Methods for producing ceramic molded body and ceramic structure
A method for producing a ceramic molded body, the method including: a molding step of subjecting a ceramic molding material to extrusion molding using an extrusion molding machine equipped with a temperature control portion to provide a ceramic molded body; a cutting step of cutting the ceramic molded body to have a predetermined length; and a dimension measuring step of measure a dimension of the cut ceramic molded body. A relationship between a temperature of the temperature control portion and the dimension of the cut ceramic molded body is previously obtained, and based on the relationship, an appropriate temperature of the temperature control portion is calculated from the dimension of the ceramic molded body measured in the dimension measuring step, and the temperature control portion is controlled to the appropriate temperature in the molding step.
APPARATUS FOR MAKING AND LAYING BRICKS
An apparatus for making and depositing bricks includes a nozzle having an inlet opening, an outlet opening, and a plurality of walls surrounding the outlet opening. At least one of the walls is configured to retract relative to the other walls. When a first brick is deposited, all of the nozzle walls are in the extended position. When subsequent bricks are deposited, one or more of the nozzle walls are retracted so that the form for the subsequent bricks is provided by the walls that are in the extended position and the sides of the already-deposited bricks. In this manner, the nozzle is configured to deposit the bricks directly adjacent to each other without any space or intervening material between them. The bricks may be deposited in a heated state and they meld together as they cool. The nozzle is particularly advantageous for paving autonomously in otherwise inaccessible locations, such as surfaces on the moon or other planets.
EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDED BODY
An extrusion molding machine includes: a molding portion having one end and other end, the one end having a die, the other end being connected to an extrusion port of an extrusion portion, the molding portion also including a screen arranged therein. The molding portion includes: at least one first temperature controlling member between the screen and the die, the first temperature controlling member including a plurality of first zones divided in a circumferential direction. Temperatures of the plurality of first zones can be individually controlled.
EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDED BODY
An extrusion molding machine includes a molding portion having one end and other end, the one end having a die, the other end being connected to an extrusion port of an extrusion portion, the molding portion also including a screen arranged therein. The molding portion includes: two or more temperature controlling members between the screen and the die; and a heat insulating member arranged between the two or more temperature controlling members.

EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDED BODY
An extrusion molding machine 1, including: an extruding portion 10 having a screw 11 and a barrel 12 capable of housing the screw; a molding portion 20 having one end and other end, the one end having a die 21, and the other end being connected to an extruding port 13 of the extruding portion 10; and a rectifier 30 arranged between the extruding portion 10 and the molding portion 20. A heat insulating member 40 is further arranged between the molding portion 20 and the rectifier 30.

The nozzle is particularly advantageous for paving autonomously in otherwise inaccessible locations, such as surfaces on the moon or other planets.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING APPARATUS
The present disclosure provides a three-dimensional printing apparatus including a stage, and first and second discharge nozzles, and methods of use thereof.
Extrusion systems and methods with temperature control
Extrusion systems and methods with temperature control are disclosed. The ceramic batch material is flowed through a front section wherein the temperature of the batch material is locally adjusted through its perimeter at multiple locations. The temperature-adjusted ceramic batch material is then extruded through the extrusion die to form the extrudate. Temperatures of the extrudate at multiple outer surface locations having different azimuthal positions are measured. The temperature adjustment of the ceramic batch material is then controlled in a first feedback loop to control the shape of the extrudate based on the measured outer surface temperatures. The front section can also be cooled using a second control loop.
