Molding equipment for molding inter-engaging bricks and method of using the same
A molding equipment and method to mold stackable inter-engaging bricks, blocks, stones and the like and bricks, blocks, stones and the like produced therewith are disclosed. The molding equipment comprises a main structure which contains individual cavities. Each cavity preferably has a middle structure to which a brick separating element can be attached. Without the brick separating element, each cavity can form two attached splittable bricks whereas with the brick separating element attached, each cavity can hold two individual smooth or embossed face bricks. The size and shape of the stackable inter-engaging bricks is such that once out of the mold but still in an uncured form, the brick can stand on its side without falling down, being damaged, buckling or being otherwise deformed during the manufacturing process.

A pallet forming concrete mold assembly includes a bottom wall having a top side, a bottom side and a perimeter edge. The perimeter wall has a rectangular shape and the bottom wall has a length and width each is between 40.0 inches and 60.0 inches. A perimeter wall is attached to and extends upwardly from the perimeter edge. The perimeter wall includes a front wall, a rear wall, a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall. The top side of the bottom wall has a pair of raised sections extending from the front wall to the back wall. A mold for manufacturing interlocking, dry-cast concrete retaining wall blocks in an upright orientation comprises a mold box comprising two side walls joined to end walls to define a mold cavity, a top face, and a substantially open bottom face. Partitions configured to define a space between adjacent blocks or a space between a block and a side of the mold box extend parallel to the side walls of the mold box substantially from the top face into the mold cavity, to form first transverse portions of the profile of the top and bottom surfaces the blocks which do not include any undercut portion that would impede removal of the mold box in a substantially vertical direction. At least one removable insert comprises insert members which, when positioned in the mold box beneath the partitions, form remaining transverse portions of the profile of the top and bottom surfaces, the remaining transverse portions including at least one undercut portion. The insert members, when in position in the mold box for casting, are substantially in lateral alignment with respective bottom surfaces of at least some of the partitions and can be inserted and retracted through openings in an end wall of the mold box.

The present disclosure generally pertains to blocks for building landscape walls and similar structures, the molds used to make the blocks, and the methods for making the blocks. Such block can be securely coupled to another block. A block can be vertically coupled to another block by coupling the dorsal face of one block to the ventral face of another block. The block can be horizontally coupled by coupling the male side of one block to the female side of another block. A secure, exemplary landscape wall may be created by coupling the blocks both horizontally and vertically to reach a desired height, width, and shape.
