The first metering installation serves for feeding an undyed plastic material through a first infeed opening into a housing of the multi-shaft screw extruder, and the second metering installation serves for feeding at least one color granulate through a second infeed opening into the housing. The plastic material is fed exclusively by way of the first infeed opening such that residual color granulate or dyeing agent contained therein, respectively, which is still located in the second metering installation or in the region of the second infeed opening does not contaminate the undyed plastic melt.
MIXING METHOD AND SYSTEM THEREOF
A mixing method provided by the invention comprises steps of melting a solid-state polymer raw material into a flowable molten raw material fluid to flow into a mixing space at a first volume flow rate, when the raw material fluid entering the mixing space, introducing a foaming agent in a fluid form into the mixing space simultaneously or at a different time, mixing the foaming agent with the molten raw material fluid into a mixture in the mixing space, circulating the mixture in the mixing space at a second volume flow rate, and causing the second volume flow rate greater than the first volume flow rate.
Liquid Polymer or Chemical Activation System Using a Submersible Actuator
A liquid polymer or chemical activation system, having a chamber; a top cover plate, a middle cover plate and a bottom cover plate; wherein such configuration creates a hollow space inside the chamber that is flanked by the top cover plate and the bottom cover plate; a hybrid pump blending reactor having a progressive cavity pump and one or more inlets for receiving first and second substances; an upper multistage mixing cup configured to receive the first and second substances from the hybrid pump blending reactor; at least one high shear mixer for mixing the first and second substances; at least one submersible actuator for actuating the high shear mixer; an intermediate blending section for receiving the mix of first and second substances from the upper multistage mixing cup; a lower multistage aging cup for further mixing of the first and second substances; and at least one outlet on the bottom cover plate for releasing the mix of first and second substances.
Device for mixing at least two fluid components, rotationally-driven mixer insert therefor, and system of the two
The invention relates to a mixer insert having a support rod element and at least one vortexing element and a rotary drive connection structure, wherein the mixer insert, for insertion into a tubular passage element, and together therewith, is adapted to a device for mixing at least two fluid components to be placeable by means of the rotary-drive connection structure in drive connection with a driveshaft of the device, when the mixer insert is inserted into the passage element and the passage element is placed in fluid-tight flow connection with at least two component feed lines of the device, characterized in that the rotary-drive connection structure has a bore hole having a bore hole wall which are adapted to a thread on the driveshaft in such a manner that the bore hole, for producing the drive connection, can be screwed onto the thread, wherein the bore hole wall is shaped by the thread. The invention also relates to such a device for mixing and also to a system of such a device and such a mixer insert.
MIXING HEAD SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING
Disclosed are systems and methods for mixing a plurality of materials for fused deposition modeling printing. The systems and methods can both mix and extrude FDM printer filaments. The mixing can be accomplished via a mixing element rotating in a heated chamber of the extruder's hot-end in order to achieve the shear forces to induce mixing of the molten plastics. Further, the mixing element can provide a secondary driving mechanism to assist with extruding the extrudate.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DYED AND AN UNDYED PLASTIC MELT
A device for producing a dyed plastic melt and an undyed plastic melt includes a multi-shaft screw extruder, a first metering installation, a second metering installation, and a control installation for selecting between a first operating mode for producing the dyed plastic melt and a second operating mode for producing the undyed plastic melt.
