PROCESS FOR IN-MOLD COATING OF COMPOSITE AIRCRAFT COMPONENTS
Processes for forming fiber reinforced composite aircraft components, i.e., aircraft components formed of a cured fiber-reinforced resin, are provided. According to specific embodiments, a finished surface of the composite aircraft component can be achieved by providing in-mold coating of the cured fiber-reinforced resin by a dried and cured film layer of a water-based primer paint material to thereby achieve a composite aircraft component having an exterior surface that does not necessarily require further finishing.
Polyurethane coating compositions and their use as gel coats
Polyurethane coating compositions are disclosed that include an isocyanate-reactive component that includes a polycyclic polyether polyol that is the reaction product of a reaction mixture that includes a polycyclic polyol starter, and an alkylene oxide, as well as an isocyanate-functional component that includes a non-aromatic polyisocyanate. The polyurethane coating compositions may be particularly useful as a gel coat in the manufacture of glass fiber reinforced plastics.
COATINGS FROM POLYISOCYANURATE COATINGS (RIM) AND THEIR USE IN INJECTION MOLDING PROCESSES
The present invention relates to the use of polyisocyanate compositions and trimerization catalysts for production of coatings by reaction injection molding, to the coatings obtained by the use and to correspondingly coated workpieces.
Method for Producing a Curved Substrate Panel with a Hologram, Resulting Substrate Panel with Hologram and a Laminate Containing Such a Substrate Panel, in Particular a Vehicle Window
A method for producing a curved substrate panel with a hologram includes producing a curved substrate panel from plastic by forming, injection moulding or injection-compression molding between a first mold half, which defines a predetermined desired geometry of a substrate surface, and a second mold half removing the first mold half from the second mold half and applying a holographic master to a surface of the first mold half, or of a further mold half fixing the first mold half or further mold half on the second mold half such that an empty gap of a predetermined constant thickness remains between the holographic master and the substrate surface, and filling this gap with a hologram-receiving material; and exposing the hologram-receiving layer formed between the substrate surface and the holographic master with a coherent light for forming a hologram defined by the holographic master.
COUNTERTOP
The improved mold assembly for cultured marble molding is provided. The mold assembly can comprise a male mold portion and a female mold portion. The assembly can further comprise a molding tool. The molding tool can have a side wall having an upper curved s and a lower curved portion. The molding tool can be constructed from a flexible and/or soft material. The lower curved portion of the molding tool can be coated with a gel coat having a first color. The molding tool can facilitate molding of a countertop having a recessed bowl portion having a color different from a counter portion of the countertop.
Equipment cover with textured outer surface
The present invention relates to equipment covers. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of making an equipment cover, the method comprising: moulding a cover from a substantially transparent or translucent polymer, optionally a thermoplastic polymer, to form a cover having a textured outer surface and a generally smoother inner surface; and applying a coating having reflective components to the inner surface.
Process for the production of an article for the cladding of floors or walls
A process for the production of an article for the cladding of floors or walls, comprising the steps of, in a mold: a) optionally applying a gel coat layer, based on a first curing polymer resin, on the inside of the mold in order to obtain a coated mold, and b) introducing into the core of the mold or into the core of the coated mold from step a) a filling composition which is based on a second curing polymer resin supplemented with at least one mineral filler, wherein core contains at least 5% wt and at most 20% wt of curing polymer resin, relative to the dry amount of filling composition, and the filling composition contains only one single initiator in a concentration of 0.5% wt to 5.0% wt relative to the amount of curing polymer resin in the filling composition.
Extruded molds and methods for manufacturing composite truck panels
Extruded molds and methods for manufacturing composite structures using the extruded molds are disclosed. The molds may include recessed or raised longitudinal features to impart a corresponding shape to the molded composite structures. The composite structures may be panels used to construct cargo vehicles, for example.
Mold insert for molding a unitary countertop-bowl combination
The improved mold assembly for cultured marble molding is provided. The mold assembly can comprise a male mold portion and a female mold portion. The assembly can further comprise a molding tool. The molding tool can have a side wall having an upper curved s and a lower curved portion. The molding tool can be constructed from a flexible and/or soft material. The lower curved portion of the molding tool can be coated with a gel coat having a first color. The molding tool can facilitate molding of a countertop having a recessed bowl portion having a color different from a counter portion of the countertop.
MOLDED PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAKING MOLDED PRODUCTS
A method of making a molded product. The method includes obtaining a mold having a cavity defined by interior surfaces and applying a gelcoat into the mold. The method further includes at least partially curing the gelcoat within the mold, dispensing a viscous polymeric material into the mold, and curing the polymeric material while the polymeric material is sandwiched between the gelcoat.
