Systems and methods for manufacturing structural materials
In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for forming a structural member may include providing a sheet of structural material and compression molding an in-mold decoration film to a side of the sheet of structural material. In accordance with these and other embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for forming a structural member may include providing a sheet of structural material and adhesively bonding a chassis attachment frame to the sheet of structural material, the chassis attachment frame having one or more attachment features for mechanically coupling the structural member to other one or more other components. In accordance with these and other embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for forming a structural member may include providing a sheet of structural material and molding a chassis attachment frame comprising sheet molding compound to the structural material.
Methods and systems for inkjet printing on co-curable paint film
Methods for placing an indicia on a composite structure generally include printing the indicia on a first film surface of a coating film, with the coating film being in a partially cured state at the time the printing the indicia is performed, and positioning the coating film on a partially cured composite structure such that a second film surface of the coating film faces and is positioned against a surface of the composite structure, with the second film surface being opposite the first film surface. Finally, the coating film and the composite structure may then be co-cured. Systems for printing an indicia on a composite structure generally include the coating film, a printer configured to print the indicia on the first film surface of the coating film, a securement configured to secure the coating film during printing, and a curing device for co-curing the coating film and the composite structure.
Method for preparing a textile/resin composite part
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a textile/thermoplastic resin composite part, comprising the following steps: (a) providing a mould; (b) applying at least one composition (A) comprising at least one thermoplastic resin; (c) heating the mould; (d) applying the textile to the heated thermoplastic resin; (e) cooling the mould; (f) unmoulding.
Medical syringe, gasket to be used for syringe, and gasket production method
A laminated gasket (13) to be used for a medical syringe is provided, which includes a main body (14) made of an elastic material, and a film (15) provided on a surface of the main body (14). The gasket (13) has a circumferential surface portion (17) to be brought into contact with an inner peripheral surface (16) of a syringe barrel (11) of the syringe. The gasket (13) further includes a projection (22) provided on a surface portion of the film (15) present in the circumferential surface portion (17) as extending circumferentially of the gasket. The projection (22) has a height of not less than 15 μm and not greater than 55 μm and a width of not less than 30 μm and not greater than 75 μm. With this arrangement, the laminated gasket is excellent in sealability.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A MOULDED ARTICLE AND MOULDED ARTICLE OBTAINED THEREBY
A method of manufacturing a moulded article from first and second moulding compounds includes attaching a first moulding component to a carrier tool, placing the carrier tool and the attached first moulding component in a mould, applying a first moulding process, removing the carrier tool, placing a second moulding component in the mould, and applying a second moulding process to shape the first and second moulding components and bond the first moulding component to the second moulding component. A moulded article is also disclosed.
CO-CURABLE FILM LAYER APPLICATION
The present disclosure is directed to a method for applying a multi-colored coating to a composite structure comprising applying a first co-curable film layer comprising a first color marking to a composite tool, applying a second co-curable film layer comprising a second color marking over the composite tool and at least partially over the first co-curable film layer to create a lay-up of a multi-colored marking, applying a composite structure over the lay-up of the multi-colored marking, and curing the lay-up of the multi-colored marking and the composite structure in a single curing step to create a cured multi-colored coating on the composite structure. A multi-colored coating for marking a composite structure and an aircraft part having a multi-colored marking are also provided.
TRANSFER FILM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FILM-COATED ARTICLE AND FILM-COATED ARTICLE
A transfer film, a method for producing a film-coated article and a film-coated article.
SELF-RELEASING, UV BLOCKING SURFACING MATERIALS FOR COMPOSITE PARTS
A surfacing material that is capable of ultraviolet (UV) protection and self-releasing from a mold surface. The surfacing material is a multilayer structure composed of a curable resin layer laminated to a self-releasing layer. The surfacing material is designed to be co-cured with a composite substrate, for example, a prepreg layup. After co-curing, the composite part surfaced with the surfacing material is releasable from the mold surface with ease. The self-releasing layer functions as a UV blocking layer until the cured composite substrate is ready for painting. When the self-releasing layer removed, a paint-ready surface is revealed. Such surface does not require any surface preparation prior to painting.
Decorative sheet
Provided is a decorative sheet that, due to an asperity profile, creates a highly textured impression, such as a contoured impression, three-dimensional impression, impression of depth, and the like, even after being molded, and that has exceptional surface flatness. This decorative sheet has a layer that includes at least a transparent resin film layer, the layer that includes at least the transparent resin film layer having on one surface thereof an asperity profile having recesses that reach the transparent resin film layer, and includes an area in which the depth (d) of the recesses of the asperity profile, and the thickness T from the start point of the depth (d) to the surface on the opposite side from the surface that has the asperity profile in the layer that includes the transparent resin film layer, satisfy the relationship (d)/T100=5-10, and is intended for use as a decorative resin molded article in which a molding resin is laminated to the surface having the asperity profile.
