A mold is provided for forming caps for closing containers by compression molding doses of plastic material, where a bottom wall of the cap, or at least one portion of the bottom wall is very thin. The mold includes two half-molds axially movable towards each other which assume an end closed position without a dose. A tubular element is slidable around the second half-mold and partially defines the cavity. The tubular element contacts an axial abutment of the first half-mold at one side and an axial end stop of the second half-mold at the other side to prevent hard contact between the half-molds.

When a collision detection section outputs an operation stop command, a deviation clearing section performs clearing operation to bring deviations in a servo system control section to zero with the servo system control section kept on. Positioning is completed as the deviations are brought to zero, which enables operation to be performed again. When a retracting operation is performed after the operation is stopped, servomotors are operated according to an operation command, which allows smooth retraction from the collision state.

Installations and methods for moulding food products with a pressurized air food product ejection system from a mould drum

A moulding installation and method for moulding food products from a pumpable foodstuff mass are described. A revolving mould drum is provided with multiple mould cavities and a mass feed member is arranged at a fill position to transfer foodstuff mass into passing mould cavities. The foodstuff mass forms a food product in the mould cavity. A pressurized air food product ejection system includes air ducts in the mould drum that extend to the cavities and at least a portion of the surface delimiting a mould cavity is air permeable. The ejection system further includes a pressurized air source to feed pressurized air at a regulated ejection air pressure thereof to the air ducts. A controller is adapted to input at least one target parameter related to filling of the mould cavities with the foodstuff mass via the mouth of the mass feed member. The controller is adapted to automatically set an ejection air pressure by the pressurized air source on the basis of the inputted target parameter.

A resin detection system for closing an automated valve to prevent resin entering a vacuum line portion of an outlet line is described. The resin detection system comprises a support (300) to a pneumatically-actuated device (320), a capacitive sensor (380) and a valve (410) are mounted. The sensor is configured to provide at least one signal indicative of the presence of resin in the outlet line which is used to close the valve automatically once the presence of resin is sensed by the capacitive sensor. The resin detection system forms part of an injection moulding apparatus and receives signals from a processor thereof to ensure that, if too much resin is injected, the valve is automatically closed even in the event that the sensor does not detect the presence of resin in the outlet line.

Dual mold spacer

A dual mold spacer for use with a dual mold assembly is provided that includes a first side portion configured to engage a first side rail of the dual mold assembly. A second side portion is configured to engage a second side rail of the dual mold assembly. A body portion extends from the first side portion to the second side portion and is configured to be located between a press of the dual mold assembly and first and second molds of the dual mold assembly. The body portion is configured for being spaced from and free from engagement with the first and second molds.
