Method for preparing compact of resin compound having anisotropy
A method for preparing a compact of resin compound comprising the following steps (a) to (c): (a) a preparation step of mounting a sheet-shaped or block-shaped compact of resin compound including a resin composition, which contains a filler having magnetic anisotropy and is solidified by curing or by being advanced to a B-stage, on a transportation unit which is movable in the horizontal direction, and covering at least a top surface of the compact of resin compound with a cover material; (b) a step of applying a magnetic field to the compact of resin compound obtained in the step (a) with a bulk superconductor magnet having a central magnetic flux density of 1 T or more; and (c) a step of moving the compact of resin compound in the horizontal direction and scanning it while applying vibrations to the compact of resin compound mounted on a region of a central part of the bulk superconductor magnet under application of a magnetic field.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A RECYCLED RUBBER-BASED ELASTOMER
Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to a process involving phase reticulation induced sulfidic metathesis. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds, assisted by exposure to a pulsed magnetic field. The resulting rubber, subjected to interlinked substitution, exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, or other polymeric materials, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.
Cutting-edge structures and method of manufacturing cutting-edge structures
A novel cutting-edge structure and method and apparatus for manufacturing the cutting-edge structure is provided. The cutting-edge structure is comprised of naturally derived or renewable material at greater than 50% by volume fraction. In one embodiment, the naturally derived material is a cellulose nanostructure such as a cellulose nanocrystal. The cellulose nanocrystal is processed using a base or mold structure to provide a cutting edge of any shape such as linear or circular edge structures. The process includes dual cure steps to produce an optimal cutting-edge structure without shrinkage. The formed cutting-edge structure can be utilized as a razor blade as it is formed with very sharp tip and edge suitable for cutting hair. The base structure can form one or more cutting-edge structures simultaneously.
ELECTRIC FIELD ”Z“ DIRECTION ALIGNMENT OF NANOPARTICLES IN POLYMER SOLUTIONS
A method of preparing a polymer film having an oriented dispersed material includes casting a multi-layer polymer solution having a first polymer solution layer and a second polymer solution layer where the second polymer solution layer is at least partially immiscible with the first polymer solution layer. The method further includes passing the multi-layer polymer solution through an electric field application zone, to thereby induce orientation of the dispersed material. A multi-layer polymer film can then be formed by drying the solvent from the multi-layer polymer solution. An apparatus for preparing polymer films includes a top electrode made from a flexible metal mesh coated with a non-stick, non-conductive coating.
Multicomponent polymer resin, methods for applying the same, and composite laminate structure including the same
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to polymer resins having a first thermoset and one or more additional components (e.g., a second thermoset and/or a thermoplastic), composite laminates including the same, methods of making and using the same, and composite laminate structures including the same.

Pouch-Shaped Battery Case Shaping Apparatus Using Electromagnetic Field and Pouch-Shaped Battery Case Shaping Method Using the Same
A shaping apparatus for a pouch-shaped battery case includes a punch configured to press a laminate sheet in order to shape an electrode assembly receiving portion of the pouch-shaped battery case, a die in which an accommodation portion is formed having a size corresponding to the electrode assembly receiving portion, a holder configured to fix an outer periphery of the laminate sheet, and an electromagnetic field-generating means attached to the punch and configured to generate an electromagnetic field. A pouch-shaped battery case shaping process uses the shaping apparatus to manufacture the pouch-shaped battery case.
