TOOLING FOR MANUFACTURING A VEHICLE PANEL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
Tooling for manufacturing a vehicle panel having a substrate, a foam layer, and a decorative covering. The tooling includes a tool base having a tool aperture, and an insert having a sealing projection. The insert is located at least partially in the tool aperture. The sealing projection is configured to create a seal between the substrate and the decorative covering at least partially around a substrate aperture in the substrate. The substrate aperture is at least partially smaller than the tool aperture so as to form an overlapping seal area between the sealing projection of insert and the substrate. A manufacturing method can create a foam-less region between the decorative covering and the substrate.
Vehicle interior panel and method of manufacturing same
A vehicle interior panel such as an instrument panel includes a substrate having a thickness between 0.5 mm and 2.25 mm, inclusive, a decorative layer, and an intermediate layer located between the substrate and the decorative layer. A post-form warpage of the substrate is less than 15 mm at an edge region of the substrate. A serpentine rib located near the edge region helps impart structural rigidity to the panel during a foaming process to achieve an adequate degree of post-form warpage.

A method for producing a vehicle interior decorative part comprises providing a substrate film, forming a composite layer by applying a decorative ply to a first side of the substrate film, micro-perforating the decorative ply in one or more regions, inserting the composite layer made of substrate film and micro-perforated decorative ply into a cavity of an injection mold wherein, when plastics material is injected into the cavity, the decorative ply of the composite layer is back-injected and a second side of the substrate film opposite the first side is pressed against a wall of the cavity, closing the cavity and injecting plastics material into the cavity to form the decorative part substrate, the decorative ply being back-injected and the decorative ply being applied to a surface of the substrate facing the decorative ply during substrate formation in the cavity, and opening the cavity and removing the decorative part.

A molded product using the decorative film for molding, an automobile exterior plate, and an electronic device are also provided.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING DECORATIVE PART FOR VEHICLE INTERIOR TRIM
The present invention relates to a method for producing a decorative part for vehicle interior trim, which is characterized by comprising the following steps: I) a softened decorative film is adhered to an inner surface of a decorative part mold and molded into a decorative film having the shape of a decorative part, wherein the decorative film has a thickness of at least 0.2 mm; II) scrap edges of the decorative film having the shape of the decorative part are removed; III) the decorative film having the shape of the decorative part from which the scrap edges have been removed is placed again in the decorative part mold and adhered to the inner surface of the decorative part mold; and IV) a body material of the decorative part is injected into the decorative part mold by a physical foaming injection molding process and molded into the decorative part together with the decorative film. In the present invention, a decorative part for vehicle interior trim which has light weight and excellent appearance can be obtained by a combination of a physical foaming injection molding process and an insert-mold process.

Disclosed is a textile-like in-mold sheet that is to be integrated with a resin molded body molded by injection of a molten resin by in-molding. The textile-like in-mold sheet includes at least a fiber sheet layer, a first adhesive layer, and a textile material layer, in this order from a surface that will serve as a side to be integrated with the resin molded body. Alternatively, the textile-like in-mold sheet includes at least a textile material layer and a temporary surface protection layer temporarily bonded to the textile material layer, in this order from the surface to be integrated with the resin molded body.
Decorative molding method and decorative molding apparatus
In a decorative molding method a film having an uneven shape printed thereon and a film having a pattern printed thereon are separately supplied to a metal mold, the films are positioned separately, and a molding material is simultaneously injected into the metal mold to carry out injection molding. In a decorative molding apparatus for realizing the above method, a suction circuit for adsorbing each of the films on a film adsorption surface of the metal mold and an air blowing circuit for peeling off the films are disposed, and, after the injection molding, air blowing on each film is started separately from the start of opening of the metal mold, and the metal mold and the films are brought into a positive pressure state, then the molded article is taken out, a clamp jig is released to release the films, and the air blowing continues until the following patterns of the films are placed inside the metal mold.
