MOLDING DEVICE WITH SELF-BLOCKING FEED CHANNEL
A molding device for producing a molded module. The molding device has one tool part and one further tool part, which together enclose a cavity. At least one of the tool parts has at least one dividing web arranged and configured to subdivide the cavity into at least a low-pressure sub-cavity and a high-pressure sub-cavity. The tool part has at least two feed channels, of which a low-pressure feed channel opens into the low-pressure sub-cavity and has a smaller cross-section at least over a longitudinal portion than a high-pressure feed channel opening into the high-pressure sub-cavity. The low-pressure feed channel is configured to become pressure-resistantly blocked through hardening of the molding compound once a predetermined time interval has elapsed or during the interval. The high-pressure feed channel is configured to conduct a molding pressure into the cavity for a longer time interval than the low-pressure feed channel.
OVERMOLDED BALLOON ATTACHMENT TO SHAFT
An inflation device includes a balloon and a shaft coupled to one another via an overmold that includes a shut-off ridge. The shaft is in pressure communication with the balloon. Therefore, when fluid pressure is increased in the shaft the balloon may inflate. The use of shut-offs to form the overmold including shaping the shut-off ridge should result in an overmold with no flash and few or no bubbles within its structure.
Coupling structures for electronic device housings
A housing for an electronic device is disclosed. The housing comprises a first component and a second component separated from the first component by a gap. The housing also includes a first molded element disposed at least partially within the gap and defining at least a portion of an interlock feature, and a second molded element disposed at least partially within the gap and mechanically engaging the interlock feature. The first component, the second component, and the second molded element form a portion of an exterior surface of the housing. A method of forming the housing is also disclosed.
Oral care implement having multiple soft tissue cleaner components
An oral care implement with a soft tissue cleaner. The oral care implement may include a handle and a head, the head having a first surface, and an opposite second surface, and a peripheral surface extending between the first and second surfaces. A soft tissue cleaner may have a first cleaner fixed to the second surface of the head and a second cleaner fixed to the peripheral surface of the head. Furthermore, a second cleaner may incorporate a plurality of grooves extending at least a portion of the distance from the first surface to the second surface along the peripheral surface.
Method of manufacturing e-boosting device
A method of manufacturing a motor case for an electric motor of an e-boosting device in which the motor case is received within an outer housing to cooperatively define a coolant jacket. The method includes forming a shell member. The method also includes overmolding a dam member to the shell member. The dam member projects from an outer surface of the shell member. The overmolding of the dam member includes forming a molded through-hole through the dam member. The dam member and the outer surface are configured to define a fluid boundary for a coolant of the coolant jacket when the motor case is received in the outer housing. The through-hole defines a passage for the coolant in the coolant jacket.
Vehicular trailer hitching assist system
A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a rear backup camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and a control disposed in the vehicle. A display device includes a video display screen operable to display video images for viewing by a driver of the vehicle. During a hitching maneuver event undertaken by the driver to hitch a trailer hitch of the vehicle to a trailer tongue of a trailer, and while the driver of the vehicle is maneuvering the vehicle to hitch the vehicle to the trailer, the control outputs video images derived from image data captured by the rear backup camera for display by the video display screen. At least one overlay overlays the displayed video images to guide the driver during the hitching maneuver. The at least one overlay aids in guiding connection of the trailer hitch of the vehicle to the trailer tongue of the trailer.
METHOD FOR INJECTION MOULDING A LIGHT MODULE FOR A LIGHTING DEVICE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for producing a light module for a lighting device of a motor vehicle, wherein the module comprises a support component and a light-outcoupling component. According to the invention, a connection element for establishing a retaining connection between the support component and the light-outcoupling component is molded at least onto the support component by means of an injection molding process.
METHOD FOR INJECTION MOULDING A LIGHT MODULE FOR A LIGHTING DEVICE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for producing a light module for a lighting device of a motor vehicle, wherein the module comprises a support component and a light-outcoupling component. According to the invention, a connection element for establishing a retaining connection between the support component and the light-outcoupling component is molded at least onto the support component by means of an injection molding process.
AIR SPRING HAVING COMPOSITE PARTS
An air spring having at least one composite part is provided. The air spring will have a top plate, a flexible sleeve, and a clamp ring coupled together by an injection molded collar. The injection molded collar will be formed to hold the top plate, flexible sleeve, and clamp ring in compression to form an air tight seal. In certain aspects, the top plate and/or the clamp ring may be formed from composites or metals.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HYBRID COMPONENT
A method for producing a hybrid component may include placing a metallic insert part into an injection mould, at least one of over-moulding and back-injecting the metallic insert part with a plastic mass, and pretreating a surface of the metallic insert part that is to be at least one of over-moulded and back-injected prior to the at least one of over-moulding and back-injecting. The metallic insert part may be placed into the injection mould such that the metallic insert part protrudes from the plastic mass on at least one side. A material accumulation may be disposed on a transition region from the metallic insert part to the plastic mass.
