A thermal conditioning device for thermally conditioning preforms, comprising a heating module provided with an enclosure with a transport volume for said preforms; a heating means and a cooling means that are oriented toward the volume; a control means for controlling said heating and cooling means; said cooling means comprising a circulating means for circulating a flow of air with a nominal flow rate determined by said control means; a channel between said circulating means and said enclosure and leading toward said volume; wherein it comprises, along said channel, a measuring means for measuring the actual flow rate and an adjusting means for adjusting said nominal flow rate with respect to said actual flow rate, by controlling the control means. The invention also relates to a corresponding thermal conditioning method.
VARIABLE COOLING DURING BLOW MOLDING PROCESS
Provided is a method for producing thermoplastic articles. The method comprises forming a hollow parison of heated thermoplastic material and positioning the parison within a cavity of a mold tool, the cavity defining the external configuration of the desired article. Fluid pressure is then applied to an internal chamber defined by the parison upon closure of the mold tool, to expand the parison to conform to the mold cavity. The formed article is then subjected to an in-mold cooling phase to reduce the thermal energy of the formed article sufficiently to permit for safe ejection with reduced distortion. The cooling phase is defined by a variable cooling protocol that applies one or more cycles of thermal shock to the formed article during the in-mold cooling phase.

A heat treatment device for a PET bottle preform with an integral handle includes an air-cooling knife, a heating furnace, and a transport mechanism. The air-cooling knife is disposed on an outlet side of the heating furnace, the bottle preform is transported into the heating furnace through the transport mechanism, heated in the heating furnace, and transported to the air-cooling knife, and the air-cooling knife jets airflow to and cools a lower end of a handle of the bottle preform, appropriately reducing the temperature at junction of the lower end of the handle and a bottle body so that a gentle transition between the temperature of the bottle body and the temperature of the handle is achieved, and the handle is not easily deformed after the bottle preform is blown, thereby effectively improving the quality of the bottle preform after blown.

A plant for making containers of thermoplastic material in continuous cycle comprises: a rotary molding machine (1) configured to make parisons (2) of thermoplastic material having a body (3) with a closed bottom and a neck (4) which defines an opening; an oven (5) for heating the parisons (2), connected to the molding machine (1) and equipped with heating means (6) operating on the body (3) of the parisons (2); a rotary blow-molding machine (7) configured to receive the parisons (2) heated in the oven (5) and to blow-mold them in molds (8) to make the containers; and a management unit (9) for the plant (10), configured to switch off the oven (5) heating means (6) during a shutdown period of the blow-molding machine (7) but without interrupting the operation of the molding machine (1), so as to enable the parisons (2) located in the oven (5) to cool down during their transit through the oven (5).
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TEMPERING PREFORMS
A method for tempering preforms in a blowing machine, wherein at least one heating box is arranged along a transport path for the preforms. The heating box has reflective walls and forms a heating channel through which the preforms are guided. The heating box also has a heater for heating the preforms in the heating channel, and a cooling device, having a blower, for cooling the reflective walls. The walls are cooled by a quantity of air flowing along the walls outside the heating channel. The heating output of the heater is adjustable. A control device provides open loop and closed-loop control of the cooling output produced by the cooling device, in particular the supplied quantity of air, depending on the respective heating output of the heater, depending on a measurement of the heating output.
