Method to chase weld lines by timing and positioning of gates
A mold apparatus for forming a molded part includes a mold body, a mold cavity formed in said mold body, a plurality of valve gates associated with said mold body, and a controller in communication with said plurality of valve gates. The controller is programmed to time opening of each valve gate based on a selected flow rate required to eliminate weld lines in the product.
APPARATUS FOR TAKING OUT MOLDED PRODUCT
A system for taking out a molded product that does not require an operator to determine the sucking operation start time for a vacuum sucker by himself/herself by trial and error is provided. A controller includes a time interval measuring section configured to measure a time interval judging from an output from a pressure detector. The time interval measuring section measures a stable time interval since the pressure in a pipe reaches a predetermined pressure until a sucking operation start pressure is detected judging from an output from the pressure detector. The sucking operation start pressure indicates that a suction nozzle starts operation to suck up a molded product hereby the predetermined pressure is maintained. A sucking operation start time determining section of the controller determines a sucking operation start time such that a stable time interval is longer than a bias time interval, concurrently with movement control for a moving mechanism.
METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR IMPROVING A CYCLE TIME
Method for improving a cycle time of a molding system operating in cycles, wherein the molding system is set up to produce molded parts in cycles, wherein the cycles include partial phases, for at least one partial phase or at least one group of partial phases a partial phase duration is measured or ascertained with reference to settings of the molding system, an optimum partial phase duration is calculated for the at least one partial phase or the at least one group of partial phases on the basis of a machine configuration, if the measured or ascertained partial phase duration deviates from the optimum partial phase duration by more than a predefined amount, an indication that the setting of the molding system is improvable with respect to the at least one partial phase or the at least one group of partial phases is issued.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE MOLDED COMPONENT, AND COMPOSITE MOLDED COMPONENT
A method for producing a composite molded component that includes an internal component, a primary molded portion covering the internal component, and a secondary molded portion covering the primary molded portion, wherein a rib portion that protrudes toward the secondary molded portion, the method including the steps of: (a) placing an intermediate component including the internal component and the primary molded portion in a mold; (b) pouring a resin for forming the secondary molded portion into the mold; (c) detecting a resin temperature of the resin in the mold; (d) determining, based on the resin temperature, a melting time during which the resin in the mold can be molten and fused to the rib portion of the primary molded portion; (e) determining, based on the melting time, whether a molten state of the rib portion is good or poor; and (f) releasing the composite molded component from the mold.
OPERATION SETTING DEVICE AND INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE
An operation setting device includes a first step of inputting an operation sequence and an operation position of the ejector by touching a desired point in a graph displayed on the setting display screen, a second step of inputting operation parameters including an operation speed, an operation position, an operation time, and an operation pattern of the ejector on the basis of the operation position thus input, and a third step of displaying in the graph and numerically displaying in a numerical value display part of the setting display screen the operation position and the operation parameters thus input. The operation position and operation parameters for each operation set in the first step to the third step are displayed in the graph and numerically displayed in the numerical value display part.
Valve pin position and velocity control method and apparatus
Injection molding system having a flow control apparatus and method that controls the movement and/or rate of movement of a valve pin over the course of an injection cycle to cause the pin to move to one or select positions and/or to control the rate of movement of the pin over the course of the injection cycle. In one embodiment the method includes steps of: a) first controllably operating the actuator to drive the valve pin upstream beginning from the first closed position (50) to be moved to and held in a first selected position (51) for a first selected period of time during the course of an injection cycle, the first selected position (51) being the full open position; b) second controllably operating the actuator to drive the valve pin, during the injection cycle, downstream beginning from the first selected position (51) to be moved to and held in a second closed position (52) for a second selected period of time; c) third controllably operating the actuator to drive the valve pin, during the injection cycle, upstream beginning from the second closed position (52) to be moved to and held in a second selected position (53) for a third selected period of time, the second selected position being an intermediate position or the full open position; and d) fourth controllably operating the actuator to drive the valve pin, during the injection cycle, downstream beginning from the second selected position (53) to be moved to a third closed position (54).

Method to chase weld lines by timing and positioning of gates
An apparatus and method for eliminating mold lines when molding a part having ferromagnetic pigments is provided. A mold assembly having a mold with a cavity and valve gates is formed. Pucks are fitted at the gates to collect residual cold plastic. The calculation of a specific sequence and timing of the opening of the valve gates is determined based on a calculation of the total number of valve gates needed to fill a part while maintaining acceptable injection molding pressure. Once calculated, the gates are positioned around the mold cavity to balance flow length ratio. A primary gate is chosen for initial injection. The time for the material to flow from the first to the second gate is established. The second gate is opened after the flow front reaches the second gate. This pattern continues until all valve gates are opened.
