EYEWEAR LENS CREATION USING ADDITIVE TECHNIQUES WITH DIFFUSE LIGHT
Systems and methods for lens creations are disclosed. The method includes initiating light transmission from a light source through a diffuser into a container holding resin and a substrate. The light transmission is performed according to an irradiation pattern wherein each point in the resin is illuminated by at least 10% of the diffuser. This causes a lens to be formed. To achieve this illumination, at least 15% of the diffuser receives light from the light source. Further, a diameter of the diffuser is greater than or equal to a diameter of the substrate. The system performing the methods includes a polymerization apparatus and may include a resin conditioning and reservoir apparatus, a metrology unit, a resin drainage apparatus and an optional postcuring apparatus.
Sealing member for a powder slush molding apparatus
A sealing member for a powder slush molding apparatus includes an elastomeric main body comprising a head portion, an anchor portion, and a neck portion extending between and joining the head portion and the anchor portion. The head portion of the sealing member defines at least one interior channel that is centered on a midline of the elastomeric main body and which has a polygonal sectional shape. The polygonal sectional shape of the at least one interior channel, and its location on the midline, permits the head portion of the sealing member to attain a measure of compressibility that helps limit the force needed to compress the head portion without rendering the sealing member too flexible that it cannot adequately retain its shape. The sealing member is useful in establishing a seal between a shell and a powder box of a powder slush molding apparatus.
GRADED-INDEX POLYMER WAVEGUIDE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A graded-index polymer waveguide (30) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The method includes providing a waveguide substrate (1); manufacturing a waveguide lower cladding layer (2) on a surface of the waveguide substrate (1); coating a material of a waveguide core layer (3) having UV photosensitivity on a surface of the waveguide lower cladding layer (2) away from the waveguide substrate (1); performing a hot imprinting process for the material of the waveguide core layer by means of a flexible transfer film mold and forming a waveguide core layer (3) having an imprinted waveguide link structure; performing a heat treatment process for the waveguide core layer (3); performing a pre-exposure process for the waveguide core layer; coating a waveguide upper cladding layer on a surface of a waveguide core layer (3); and curing the waveguide core layer (3) and the waveguide upper cladding layer (4).

Contact lens manufacturing method
A contact lens manufacturing method for removing a contact lens from a pair of molds, the contact lens being produced by polymerizing a monomer included in the pair of molds which are obtained by assembling a lower mold for forming a front curve of the contact lens and an upper mold for forming a base curve of the contact lens, the method including: (A) a first peeling step to peel the contact lens from the lens formation surface of the upper mold; (B) a separation step to separate the contact lens from the lens formation surface of the upper mold; (C) a second peeling step to peel the contact lens whose periphery sticks to the lens formation surface of the lower mold; and (D) a third peeling step to peel the contact lens, whose periphery has been peeled, from the lens formation surface of the lower mold.
Leveler table
A leveler table includes a plate with a flat top work surface that is level in all planes, by locating a circular level recessed within the center of the plate, so that the level indicator of the circular level is in horizontal alignment with the top work surface. By locating the circular level in the middle of the plate, at the same horizontal level as the work surface, this leveler table provides accuracy and repeatability for use of the flat top work surface in manufacturing steps, particularly the forming of parts where repeatability is necessary, such as the in situ forming of an automotive windshield sensor pad in an open ended package supported on the flat top surface.
RAPID TOOLING LAYUP MANDREL
A layup mandrel including a rib structure comprising ribs defining a lofted surface; and a skin attached to and supported by the rib structure. The skin has a surface having a curvature of the lofted surface; the ribs are disposed to at least partially shape the curvature molding a part pressed against the surface during curing of the part; and the part comprises or consists essentially of a composite material.
Self collapsible blow moulded plastic thin-walled containers and a dispensing method using same
A blow molded bottle (1): a) which is self-collapsible during its emptying; b) which comprises at least two transversal grooves and/or ribs (6.1), preferably located in the tubular body portion (6), equipped with collapse starters (6.2); c) wherein the mean wall thickness (Tmean) of the tubular body portion (6) is—in an increasing order of preference—less than or equal to 200; 180; 160; 150 μm; preferably comprised between 65 and 150; and more preferably comprised between 90 and 130 μm. The invention also discloses a method, a preform (100) and a mold for the manufacture of the aforementioned container by blow molding. The invention also discloses a method for bottling liquid into the bottles (1), a method for dispensing the liquid, a dispenser for implementing the method and a method for packing the thin-walled bottles, in view of storage and transportation.
High temperature field joints
A method for forming a high temperature field joint between two insulated pipe sections, and an insulated conduit having a low temperature field joint. The conduit comprises a steel pipe with a corrosion protection coating and a pipe insulation layer comprising a polymer composition having thermal conductivity of less than about 0.40 W/mk, and/or heat resistance to continuous operating temperatures from about 150° C. to above about 205° C. After a circumferential weld joint is formed between the two pipes, a first field joint insulation layer is applied over the joint area, the first field joint insulation layer comprises a polymer composition having heat resistance to continuous operating temperatures from about 150° C. to above about 205° C.
