Magnetically attached flanges
A mold for forming a wind turbine blade comprising first and second mold surfaces including a flange portion having an opening therein, wherein the first and second mold surfaces are configured for relative movement therebetween from an open position to a closed position. The opening of the first flange portion is aligned with the opening of the second flange portion when in the closed position, and a first magnet is disposed within the opening in the opening of the first mold surface, and a second magnet is disposed within the opening of the second mold surface.
REPLACEABLE MOLD PART
A replaceable mold part according to the present invention comprises: a depressed portion remained near a cavity; and a detachable portion, the detachable portion having a marking portion or a gas-releasing function, and being caught by a catch mechanism within the depressed portion. When a magnet is brought into proximity of the detachable portion through the cavity and an external magnetic field is applied, a magnet support portion's position is shifted from the fixed location to the released location within the depressed portion so that the catch mechanism of the detachable portion by the depressed portion is switched from the fixed state to the released state, thereby the detachable portion can easily be removed from the depressed portion through the cavity.

Composite components and methods of manufacturing composite components using magnetic forces at fiber preform seams
A method of manufacturing a composite component according to various aspects of the present disclosure includes disposing a fiber preform in a mold. The fiber preform includes a first portion having a first edge and a second portion having a second edge. The first edge and the second edge cooperate to at least partially define a gap. One of the first portion or the second portion includes a first ferromagnetic material and the other of the first portion or the second portion includes a first magnetic or magnetizable component. The method further includes closing the gap by generating a magnetic field from the first magnetic or magnetizable component. The method further includes injecting a polymer precursor into the mold. The method further includes forming the composite component by solidifying the polymer precursor to form a polymer. The composite component includes the fiber preform and the polymer.

PLASTIC MOLDED PART AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A method for production of a molded part made of plastic by rotational molding includes placing a starting material in a form of at least one of a plastic or a plastic precursor into a rotational melt mold that is fitted with at least one magnetic element. The rotational melt mold is rotated and, while the rotational melt mold is rotating, the starting material is shaped. The at least one magnetic element rotates together with the rotational melt mold while the starting material is being shaped. The starting material and the at least one magnetic element are configured in such a way that the starting material and the at least one magnetic element interact magnetically such that a portion of the starting material is attracted and held in place by the at least one magnetic element while the starting material is being shaped.
ADHESION FORCE CONFIRMATION METHOD AND ADHESION FORCE CONFIRMATION DEVICE
The present invention enables confirmation that a mold magnetically adhered by a magnetic clamping device has been magnetically adhered by a sufficient adhesion force so as not to be pulled off from the magnetic clamping device by a mold opening force of a mold handling device. A controller 7 carries out magnetization of a magnetic clamping device 10 such that a magnetic adhesion force weaker than that in normal magnetization is generated in a state where molds M1, M2 are bound together, and carries out a test to determine whether separation of the molds M1, M2 would occur when platens 2, 3 are separated. The controller issues a warning regarding lack of guaranteed adhesion force to an operator when separation is detected, and carries out normal magnetization of the magnetic clamping device 10 when separation is not detected.
