MULTILAYER RIBLET APPLIQUE AND METHODS OF PRODUCING THE SAME
Multilayer riblet applique and methods of producing the same are described herein. One disclosed example method includes applying a first high elongation polymer material to a web tool, where the web tool is to be provided from a first roll, and heating, via a first heating process, the first high elongation polymer material. The disclosed example method also includes applying a second high elongation polymer material to the first high elongation polymer material, and heating, via a second heating process, the second high elongation polymer material. The disclosed example method also includes applying, via a laminating roller, a support layer to the second high elongation polymer material.
Methods and Systems of Obtaining Patterned Structures on Surfaces
Method for producing arrays of free standing, three dimensional structures on material surfaces by establishing contact with a template, moving the template and the surface in contact relative to one another, inducing an increase in viscosity such that the structures are self-supported, and removing the template, leaving a negative of the template geometry at the tip of the object.
METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING AN EMBOSSED STRUCTURE TO THE SURFACE OF A COATING, AND COMPOSITE EMPLOYABLE AS EMBOSSING MOLD
Disclosed herein is a method for transferring an embossed structure to at least a part of a surface of a coating composition (C2a) using a composite (S1C1) including a substrate (S1) and an at least partially embossed and at least partially cured coating (C1) upon following steps (1), (2-i) and (3-i) or (2-ii) and (3-ii), and also at least step (4) and optionally step (5-i) or (5-ii), where the coating composition (C1a) is a radiation-curable coating composition of defined constitution and the composite (S1C1) is used as embossing mold (e2) of an embossing tool (E2).
Molded surface fastener manufacturing method
In this molded surface fastener, plural engaging elements having a stem portion and an engaging head portion formed integrally on the stem portion are standing on the base portion, at least one pawl portion having a pawl width dimension narrower than a width dimension at a boundary between the stem portion and the engaging head portion is protruded on an outer peripheral edge part of the engaging head portion, and a back surface of pawl of the pawl portion is formed at different angles with respect to a back surface of head portion of the engaging head portion. Such a molded surface fastener of the present invention has a substantial engaging force with respect to a female surface fastener and can make a texture of its surface comfortable.
Structure forming apparatus, method of manufacturing a structure, and structure
Provided is a structure forming apparatus, including: a roller provided to be rotatable, having a length in an axial direction of the rotation, and capable of transmitting an energy beam; a retaining member arranged to face the roller such that a slit region having a length in the axial direction is formed between the retaining member and the roller, and capable of retaining a material to be cured by energy of the energy beam at least in the slit region; an irradiation unit configured to selectively radiate the energy beam to the slit region through the roller to cure the material so that a sheet-like structure is formed; and a take-up reel configured to take up the sheet-like structure thus formed.
Molded surface fastener manufacturing method
In this molded surface fastener, an engaging element includes a columnar stem portion, and micro pawl portions protruding outward from an upper end outer peripheral edge of the stem portion in a plan view of the engaging elements. A pawl width dimension of the micro pawl portions is smaller than a line segment connecting two points on the upper end outer peripheral edge of the stem portion. The micro pawl portions protrude toward a base portion. This molded surface fastener has a high peel strength and a shear strength with respect to a female surface fastener.
SOUND INSULATION SHEET, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND SOUND INSULATION STRUCTURE
To provide a sound insulation sheet member which is excellent in sound insulation performance in a low frequency band and which has a compact configuration. A sound insulation sheet member 1 including a substrate 2 and a concavo-convex structure 3 placed on at least one surface of the substrate 2, in which the concavo-convex structure 3 is provided by repeatedly arranging a plurality of units each defined as a concavo-convex unit shape 4 including a linear convex portion 5, in one direction at substantially constant intervals on the surface of the substrate 2.
Molded surface fastener manufacturing method
This manufacturing method of a molded surface fastener involves a primary molding step for forming a primary molded body and a secondary molding step for compressing a provisional element of the primary molded body while heating the same. A molding apparatus is provided with a mold member comprising multiple penetration holes and multiple concave portions, whereof each penetration hole communicates to at least one concave portion; in the primary molding step, the molding apparatus is used to form a primary molded body comprising a provisional element having a primary stem portion and a pawl portion is formed from the protruded portion by compressing the provisional element. By this means, it is possible to stably manufacture a molded surface fastener that has an engaging element comprising a pawl portion that projects from the outer peripheral edge of an engaging head portion.
