Method of forming a cured elastomer and articles of the cured elastomer
A cured elastomer golf ball component is made by heating an elastomer compound containing an ethylenically unsaturated elastomer, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and first and second free radical initiators to a first crosslinking temperature T.sub.1 in a compression mold and partially crosslinking the elastomer, then heating to a second crosslinking temperature T.sub.2 and curing the elastomer component of the golf ball. Either: (i) the first initiator has a half-life of about 0.2-5 minutes at T.sub.1, the second initiator has a half-life of about 0.2-5 minutes at T.sub.2, and T.sub.2 is higher T.sub.1 by at least about 30° C.; or (ii) the second initiator's one-minute half-life temperature is at least about 30° C. higher than the first initiator's one-minute half-life temperature, T.sub.1 is within about 20° C. of the first initiator's one-minute half-life temperature, and T.sub.2 is within about 20° C. of the second initiator's one-minute half-life temperature.
RUBBER TUBE, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME
A rubber tube has an inner surface at least partly roughed so that the ratio (Rz/D) of the maximum height Rz of the inner surface to the inner diameter D of the tube is not less than 0.038. The ratio (Rp/D) of the maximum peak height Rp of the inner surface to the inner diameter D of the tube may be not less than 0.019. The ratio (Rv/D) of the maximum valley depth Rv of the inner surface to the inner diameter D of the tube may be not less than 0.019. The ratio (Ra/D) of the arithmetic average roughness Ra of the inner surface to the inner diameter D of the tube may be not less than 0.0036. The ratio (Rq/D) of the root mean square height Rq of the inner surface to the inner diameter D of the tube maybe not less than 0.0046. Thus, the rubber tube has a reduced adhesiveness.
RESIN SUPPLY APPARATUS, RESIN SEALING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RESIN-SEALED PRODUCT
A resin supply apparatus includes a calculation unit for calculating a resin supply pattern based on the shape of a cavity of a resin sealing mold, and a supply unit for supplying a resin to an object to be coated along the resin supply pattern. The resin supply pattern has a plurality of linear paths, and one of mutually adjacent linear paths is inclined with respect to an axis of symmetry that divides a cavity in line symmetry, the other one of the mutually adjacent linear paths is inclined with respect to the one linear path, and a region between the mutually adjacent linear paths is opened to the outside of the object to be coated, at least on a side on which the other linear path is separated from the one linear path.
DESIGN AND METHOD FOR INTEGRATING A DISPENSABLE LIGHT TRANSMISSIBLE APERTURE IN THE CAP OF A THIN LIGHT SENSOR MODULE
A method of making a light sensor module includes connecting a light sensing circuit to an interconnect on a substrate, and forming a cap. The cap is formed by producing a cap substrate from material opaque to light to have an opening formed therein, placing the cap substrate top-face down, dispensing a light transmissible material into the opening, compressing the light transmissible material using a hot tool to thereby cause the light transmissible material to fully flow into the opening to form at a light transmissible aperture, and placing the cap substrate into a curing environment. A bonding material is dispensed onto the substrate. The cap is picked up and placed onto the substrate positioned such that the light transmissible aperture is aligned with the light sensing circuit, with the bonding material bonding the cap to the substrate to thereby form the light sensor module.
Metallic monomer used as ionomeric additives for ionomers and polyolefins
A golf ball comprising: (a) a core: (b) an outer cover layer; and (c) optionally, at least one intermediate layer, wherein at least the outer cover layer or the intermediate layer comprises a blend composition of: (i) a metallic coagent; and (ii)(a) at least one polyolefin or (ii)(b) at least one ionomer.
Golf ball with RFID inlay between a split core
A golf ball having a compressible core with an RFID tag embedded therein is described. The compressible core comprises an outer core that surrounds an inner core and the RFID tag. The outer core has a hardness that is greater than the inner core. The RFID tag is composed of a planar carrier, a planar RFID integrated circuit, and an RFID antenna. The RFID integrated circuit includes a memory that stores at least one unique identifier. The RFID antenna is electrically coupled to the planar RFID integrated circuit. The planar carrier includes a first carrier surface that is parallel to a second carrier surface, and the planar carrier receives the RFID antenna and the RFID integrated circuit on the first carrier surface to form the RFID tag. Additionally, the molded shell encapsulates the compressible core.
