The present invention relates to a molding made of expanded bead foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is partly within the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the expanded bead foam. The two ends of the respective fibers (F) that are not surrounded by the expanded bead foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings of the invention from expanded bead foam or the panels of the invention and for the use thereof, for example as rotor blade in wind turbines.
Method for producing a foamed granulate and use thereof
The invention relates to a method in which a polyester melt containing one or more polyesters is produced, the polyester melt being foamed by a blowing agent and a foamed granulate is produced from the foamed polyester melt. The intrinsic viscosity (IV) of the polyester melt is reduced by the blowing agent about at least 0.05 dl/g, measured according to ASTM D4603, and the IV of the foamed granulate is then increased by means of a solid phase polycondensation (SSP).
METHODS FOR FORMING FOAMED BEADS INCLUDING A NANOSTRUCTURED FLUOROPOLYMER
A method for forming foamed beads includes: saturating pellets with a blowing agent to form saturated pellets; and depressurizing the saturated pellets in a pressure vessel to form the foamed beads. The pellets include: a matrix polymer component, and from 0.01 wt% to 2 wt%, based on the weight of the pellets, of a nanostructured fluoropolymer, a nanostructured fluoropolymer encapsulated by an encapsulating polymer, or a combination thereof.
POLYAMIDE-BASED RESIN EXPANDED BEADS, MOLDED ARTICLE OF POLYAMIDE-BASED RESIN EXPANDED BEADS, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYAMIDE-BASED RESIN EXPANDED BEADS
Polyamide-based resin expanded beads contain a polyamide-based resin as a base material resin. The beads have a crystal structure, an intrinsic peak of the polyamide-based resin and a high-temperature peak having a peak top temperature on a higher temperature side than a peak top temperature of the intrinsic peak appear in a DSC curve obtained under a predetermined condition; an amount of heat of fusion of the high-temperature peak is within 5 J/g or more and 50 J/g or less; and a coefficient of variation of the amount of heat of fusion of the high-temperature peak is 20% or less. The beads are produced by in-mold molding. A method for producing the beads includes: impregnating a polyamide-based resin; and releasing expandable polyamide-based resin beads from a sealed container, a temperature in the sealed container is raised at a rate of 0.3° C. or higher and 1.5° C. or lower per 10 minutes.

Expandable, blowing agent-containing pellets based on high temperature thermoplastics having a glass transition temperature according to ISO 11357-2-1999 of at least 180° C., wherein the expandable, blowing agent-containing pellets comprise at least one nucleating agent and have a poured density according to DIN ISO 697:1982 in the range from 400 to 900 kg/m.sup.3 and a mass in the range from 1 to 5 mg/pellet, processes for production thereof and foam particles obtainable therefrom having a glass transition temperature according to ISO 11357-2-1999 of at least 180° C., wherein the expanded foam particles comprise at least one nucleating agent and have a poured density according to DIN ISO 697:1982 in the range from 10 to 200 kg/m.sup.3, and particle foams obtainable therefrom and the use thereof for producing components for aviation.
Foaming particle manufacturing device using polyolefin-based resin particle and method for manufacturing said foaming particle
An expanded particle producing apparatus includes a vessel and a blade stirrer that is located inside the vessel. The blade stirrer comprises a stirrer base and an impeller blade that is attached to the stirrer base. A distance from the bottom of the vessel to the center of the stirrer base (L1) and a depth of the vessel (L2) have a ratio (L1/L2) of 0.01 to 0.2. L1 is measured in a depth direction parallel to L2, and a central axis of the blade stirrer coincides with a central axis of the vessel. The apparatus is configured to produce expanded particles.
