A nasal impression assembly for use in prosthodontics and otolaryngology, wherein the assembly includes detachable components specifically designed for recording precise nasal impressions. The detachable components may include plurality of nasal cones, a pair of injection syringes, and an extra nasal mesh splint, assembled on a horizontal bar. Further a method is provided for measuring/imprinting the impression, by using the assembly, wherein an impression material is brought in contact with extra-nasal and/or intra-nasal structure to imprint its size and/or shape.

The positioning assembly includes a first translation assembly configured to engender a first movement of the injection unit outlet along a translation plane, and a second translation assembly configured to engender a second movement of the injection unit outlet along the translation plane. The positioning assembly further includes a brake assembly extending between the first translation assembly and the second translation assembly. A method and device for producing an optimized neck contour on preforms below the neck which is optimal for subsequent stretch blow molding. The geometry has a significantly thinner wall thickness than the neck itself. The preform can only be produced in the injection molding tool, when axial channels are used on the point or the vanes produce the thin points on the preform during injection molding. The thin-walled geometry on the preform can be produced outside of the mold during post-cooling by embossing. The preform is there removed in a cooled receiving sleeve and is cooled in the body by intensive contact cooling while no cooling contact is made with the preform neck due to the initial position of the embossing element. Due to the reheating of the neck they can be mechanically deformed into a new geometry advantageous for blow molding and thus wall thickness can be influenced.

In one aspect, an injection unit for an injection molding machine having a hot runner with a sprue comprises a heated melt pipe configured to convey a continuous stream of melt, a shooting pot assembly, and a telescopic melt coupling. The shooting pot assembly is configured to convert the continuous stream of melt from the heated melt pipe into batches for cyclical injection and is translatable between a sprue-engagement position and a sprue-disengagement position. The telescopic melt coupling is configured to convey melt from the heated melt pipe to the shooting pot assembly and has a variable length. The variable length telescopic melt coupling permits translation of the shooting pot assembly, relative to the heated melt pipe, between the sprue-engagement position and the sprue-disengagement position while maintaining a fluid melt interconnection between the heated melt pipe and the shooting pot assembly.

Plasticizing unit

A plasticizing unit is provided for an injection unit of an injection moulding machine with a support element arranged beneath the cylinder and connected therewith. To simplify adjusting of the nozzle centre, a fixing element surrounds the end of the support element facing away from the cylinder such that a distance is present between the fixing element and the support element. Several adjusting elements are provided, to produce a force-fitting and/or form-fitting connection between the fixing element and the support element to adjust the position of the support element relative to the fixing element in a plane orthogonally to the cylinder axis. The plasticizing unit can be clamped in and out with its fixing element in a clamping- and positioning system connected with the machine bed. On changeover of the plasticizing unit, an adjusting of the nozzle centre, which has been carried out once, is retained.
