Continuous extruder process for manufacturing rheology-modified polyolefin for cable insulation layer, and related products
Rheology-modified, additive-containing ethylenic polymer compositions are prepared in a continuously operated extruder comprising first, second and third zones by a process comprising the steps of: mixing in the second zone of the extruder an ethylenic polymer and a high-temperature decomposing peroxide at a temperature such that the half-life of the peroxide is equal to or greater than one minute and for a sufficient period of time to modify the rheology of the ethylenic polymer to produce a rheology-modified, melted ethylenic polymer for transfer to the third zone of the extruder; and adding to the third zone one or more additives to the rheology-modified, melted ethylenic polymer to produce the rheology-modified, additive-containing ethylenic polymer.

Rheology-modified, additive-containing ethylenic polymer compositions are prepared in a continuously operated extruder comprising first, second and third zones by a process comprising the steps of: mixing in the second zone of the extruder an ethylenic polymer and a high-temperature decomposing peroxide at a temperature such that the half-life of the peroxide is equal to or greater than (≥) one minute and for a sufficient period of time to modify the rheology of the ethylenic polymer to produce a rheology-modified, melted ethylenic polymer for transfer to the third zone of the extruder; and adding to the third zone one or more additives to the rheology-modified, melted ethylenic polymer to produce the rheology-modified, additive-containing ethylenic polymer.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RECYCLING PLASTICS
Techniques recycle plastics in multiple successive process steps. A polymer, preferably a recyclable material, is melted using a discharge extruder, filtered using a first filter device under a positive pressure atmosphere, filtered and degassed using a degassing device, and discharged using a discharge extruder. The degassing device has at least one filter element and a vacuum chamber with a negative pressure atmosphere for filtering and degassing purposes, wherein the plastic melt can be conducted into the negative pressure atmosphere of the vacuum chamber through the filter element.
Active valve for mixing and dispensing control
An assembly for performing an additive manufacturing process includes a first material feed for dispensing a first material, a second material feed for dispensing a second material, a material combiner chamber, a first entry channel fluidly connecting the first material feed and the material combiner chamber, and a second entry channel fluidly connecting the second material feed and the material combiner chamber. The assembly further includes a pen tip for dispensing a material in the additive manufacturing process, the material comprising the first material and the second material, a valve having a rod, a first seal between the material combiner and the pen tip, and a first actuator for moving the rod back and forth along a longitudinal axis to open and close the first seal.
Mixer structure for a film die and a film die
A mixer structure for a film die for a polymer melt includes multiple web elements. The web elements include a first web element and a second web element. The first web element and the second web element include at least an end, which is connected to a base. A film die includes a first tool element, a second tool element, and a flow channel for the polymer melt extending between the first tool element and the second tool element. The mixer structure is arranged in the flow channel. The mixer structure is held in at least one of the tool elements by a holding element.

Maxflow Flow Inducement System
A mixer apparatus for the treatment of a polymer material to generate the Maxwell effect therein, at a rotor-stator interface in a mixer. The mixer comprises an alternating series of stators and rotors arranged along an elongated driveshaft supported within an elongated housing. The stators and rotors each having at least one helically arranged channel extending from an upstream end of the stator to an end location near the downstream end of that stator, those helically arranged channels preferably are arranged on the surface of the bore extending through the stator. A further generally radially directed channel from the end location of that helically arranged channel to a peripheral surface discharge at the downstream end of that stator is arranged to supply the polymer passing therethrough, to the upstream end of an adjacent rotor having a plurality of helically directed channels arranged on its outer periphery, those channels being inclined radially outwardly and of tapered dimension from an upstream end to a widened downstream end.
