The invention relates to a floor or wall panel and to a method of producing such panel. The panel comprise at least one core layer comprising at least one composite material, said composite material comprising at least one mineral filler, and at least one thermoplastic binder, which are present in a preferred ratio and composition such that a relatively light weight and rigid panel is obtained.

The present invention relates to polypropylene particles and a method for preparing same, the polypropylene particles being formed from a polypropylene resin, and having a melting index (M.I.) of 1000 g/10 min or more when the particles are re-melted under a temperature condition of 150° C. to 250° C. and a condition of atmospheric pressure to a pressure of 15 MPa.
ROTARY EXTRUDER
The present rotary extruder includes: a rotor having a cylindrical surface centered on a rotor axis extending in a horizontal direction; and a casing having an inner peripheral surface that defines a bore, wherein: the casing defines an input port into which a resin material including a thermoplastic resin is fed, and a discharge port from which a plasticized molten resin is discharged; the cylindrical surface of the rotor and the inner peripheral surface of the casing are arranged eccentric with each other, thereby forming a gap whose cross section is crescent-shaped, extending in a rotation direction of the rotor from the input port to the discharge port between the inner peripheral surface and the cylindrical surface; and the input port is arranged at a top portion of the casing and the discharge port is arranged at a lower portion of the casing.

Disclosed is an extrusion system including a cooled extruder, fixable to a pressing carriage of a machine for quick prototyping with thread of filler material, including: a unit for controlled and localized heating of the filler material, a unit blowing compressed air onto a zone of the extruder to be cooled, immediately upstream of the melting zone, with a predetermined flow rate, a channel supplying the thread of filler material. The extruder includes a nozzle whose body includes a melting zone, and with an outlet end conveying the material on a pressing plane. The nozzle is integral with a heating block. The nozzle is made of a material having high wear and corrosion resistance and good workability. At least at the melting zone of the nozzle is internally processed with a surface finishing having a roughness 0.2-2.5 pm or less, which ensures a good flowabitly of the material.

A gas is fed from a head end of the tube wound onto the winding reel into a hollow of the tube, the gas in the hollow is allowed to pass through a gas-introducing entrance of the mold and then through a gas-discharging hole of the mold to discharge the gas outside, thereby allowing the gas to flow along the hollow, and an internal pressure of the hollow is kept higher than atmospheric pressure and lower than 0.5 kgf/cm.sup.2.

A method and apparatus for the pelletization of plastics and/or polymers, in which a melt coming from a melt generator is supplied via a diverter valve having different operating positions to a plurality of pelletizing heads through which the melt is pelletized. The plurality of pelletizing heads have different throughput capacities and are used sequentially for the start-up of the pelletizing process, with the melt first being supplied to a first pelletizing head having a smaller throughput capacity and then the melt volume flow being increased and the diverter valve being switched over such that the melt is diverted by the diverter valve to a second pelletizing head having a larger throughput capacity.
