TOOL AND METHOD FOR ROLL GROOVING A WORKPIECE
A tool configured to form a groove in a pipe includes a housing, a spindle rotatable about a drive axis, a die shaft defining a die shaft axis, a die rotatably coupled to the die shaft about a die axis that is offset relative the die shaft axis, the die configured to form a groove into the pipe, and
a drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a spindle drive portion configured to rotate the spindle about the drive axis and thereby rotate the tool with respect to the pipe, and a die shaft drive portion configured to rotate the die shaft to vary a distance between the die axis and the drive axis.
PEX expansion tool
An expansion tool includes a housing, a motor supported within the housing, a mandrel, and a drive mechanism configured to convert a rotational input from the motor into translational movement of the mandrel. The drive mechanism includes a cam and a drive shaft coupled to the cam. The expansion tool further includes a frame including a hub and a neck extending from the hub and having an opening. A working element is coupled to the neck and has a plurality of jaws movable from a closed position toward an expanded position in response to movement of the mandrel from a retracted position toward an extended position. The mandrel extends through the opening to engage the jaws, and the drive shaft is rotatably supported by the hub.
PEX expansion tool
An expansion tool includes a working element configured to expand an end of a tube. The working element includes a plurality of jaws movable between a closed position and an expanded position. The expansion tool also includes first mandrel with a first contact surface and a second mandrel coupled to the first mandrel. The second mandrel has a second contact surface. The first mandrel and the second mandrel are movable together relative to the jaws between a retracted position and an extended position. The first contact surface and the second contact surface are engageable with the jaws to move the jaws from the closed position toward the expanded position in response to movement of the first mandrel and the second mandrel from the retracted position toward the extended position.
PEX EXPANSION TOOL
An expansion tool includes a housing, a motor supported by the housing, a mandrel, and a drive mechanism configured to convert a rotational input from the motor into translational movement of the mandrel between an extended position and a retracted position. The expansion tool is configured to perform cycles of axially extending and retracting the mandrel. An elapsed time for one cycle of moving the mandrel from the retracted position to the extended position and back to the retracted position defines a cycle time of the expansion tool. The cycle time is one second or less.
TUBING EXPANSION TOOLS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LEAK DETECTION
A working element operable to expand an end of a tube includes a main body configured to rotate about an axis, a plurality of roller supports movably coupled to the main body, the roller supports movable relative to the main body between a retracted position and an expanded position, and a plurality of rollers coupled to the roller supports such that a distance between a first roller of the plurality of rollers and a second roller of the plurality of rollers increases when the roller supports move toward the expanded position. The rollers are configured to be inserted into the end of the tube when the roller supports are in the retracted position, and the rollers are engageable with an inner circumference of the tube when the main body rotates about the axis to expand the end of the tube.
ELECTRIC PIPE EXPANDER, CHUCK STRUCTURE FOR ELECTRIC PIPE EXPANDER, AND CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR ELECTRIC PIPE EXPANDER
An electric pipe expander and intelligent control circuit for the electric pipe expander are provided The electric pipe expander includes a pipe expander body and a mandrel sliding cavity disposed on the pipe expander body. A chuck body capable of clamping a pipe to be processed is disposed at an opening end of the mandrel sliding cavity. A mandrel is slidingly connected in the mandrel sliding cavity, an outer side end of the mandrel is provided with an obliquely disposed pipe expanding cone, an inner side end of the mandrel is provided with an elastic body accommodating cavity. Flat keys are disposed on the mandrel, and an elastic body is clamped and disposed between the flat keys and a bottom surface of the elastic body accommodating cavity.
EXPANSION TOOL
An expansion tool includes a housing, a collar rotatably coupled to the housing, a plurality of jaws coupled for co-rotation with the collar, a mandrel movable relative to the housing between a retracted position and an extended position to expand the jaws, and a drive mechanism including a rotatable cam. Rotation of the cam moves the mandrel between the retracted position and the extended position. The expansion tool further includes an indexing gear configured to incrementally receive torque from the drive mechanism such that continuous rotation of the drive mechanism incrementally rotates the indexing gear, and a clutch assembly including a clutch gear meshed with the indexing gear, a clutch cover surrounding the clutch gear, and a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the clutch gear and the clutch cover. The clutch cover is drivably coupled to the collar such that rotation of the clutch cover rotates the collar.
PEX EXPANSION TOOL
An expansion tool includes a housing, a motor supported by the housing and including a motor, a mandrel, and a drive mechanism configured to convert a rotational input from a motor shaft into translational movement of the mandrel. The expansion tool includes a first operating mode and a second operating mode. When the expansion tool is operated in the first operating mode, the drive mechanism is configured to reciprocate the mandrel between a retracted position and a first extended position. When the expansion tool is operated in the second operating mode, the drive mechanism is configured to reciprocate the mandrel between the retracted position and a second extended position different than the first extended position.
PEX EXPANSION TOOL
An expansion tool includes a housing and an expansion head having a casing and jaws. The jaws are movable between a closed position and an expanded position relative to a longitudinal axis. Each jaw includes a first tapered portion defining a first length along the longitudinal axis, a first sizing portion extending parallel to the longitudinal axis from the first tapered portion and defining a second length along the longitudinal axis, a second tapered portion defining a third length along the longitudinal axis, and a second sizing portion extending parallel to the longitudinal axis from the second tapered portion and defining a fourth length along the longitudinal axis. The first sizing portions define a first diameter and the second sizing portions define a second diameter greater than the first diameter when the jaws are in the closed position. The third length is greater than the fourth length.
