METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING HOOK FASTENERS
Apparatus and process are described for forming projections on a substrate for use as hook-type fasteners in touch fastening systems, wherein vibration energy may be used to soften a substrate which may be positioned between a mold and a source of vibration. The mold may include a plurality of cavities into which the softened substrate may be forced to form the projections. The substrate may comprise a film, sheet, web, composite, laminate, etc. and be useful as an attachment strip for temporary or permanent fastening. The source of vibration may be an ultrasonic horn. The process to form such projections may be operated in a continuous, semi-continuous or intermittent manner.
EMBOSSED SHEET AND DECORATIVE SHEET
An embossed sheet configuring a decorative sheet includes a sheet-shaped base that has translucency, and a plurality of reflective portions provided on one surface of the base. Each of the plurality of reflective portions has a reflective main surface that reflects incident light, and connecting surfaces that are provided between the reflective main surface and the base. Each reflective main surface is rectilinear on a first cross-section and curvilinear on a second cross-section. A gradient of a straight line at a center position of the reflective main surface that is rectilinear on the first cross-section, in relation to the one surface of the base, varies within a range of ±40 degrees in each of the plurality of reflective portions. As a result, the reflective portion can reflect incident light at regular and non-regular angles.
Manufacturing method of resin articles
A manufacturing method of a resin article having a plurality of filamentous projections that are formed in a contact surface of a resin article body may include a thrusting step to thrust acute-angled leading edges of plate-shaped metal parts into the contact surface of the resin article body, a heating step to heat the plate-shaped metal parts before or during the thrusting step, and a pulling out step to pull out the plate-shaped metal parts in a condition in which portions of the resin material of the resin article body is melted around the leading edges of the plate-shaped metal parts and in which melted resin portions are formed on unmelted portions of the resin material of the resin article body.
Apparatus and method for securing a substrate to a plastic strip, and fastening device likely to be obtained by said method
A method for assembling an assembly comprising a tape (100) of retaining elements and a substrate (200), said method comprising the following steps: a step of forming a tape of retaining elements by dispensing a molding material into a molding device (1), so as to form a tape (100) of retaining elements comprising a base (51) presenting a bottom face (511) and a top face (512), the top face (511) of the base (51) being provided with retaining elements; and a step of applying a substrate (200) against the bottom face (511) of the base (51) prior to said bottom face (512) of the base (51) solidifying in such a manner as to cause the substrate (200) to penetrate at least in part beyond a plane defined by the bottom face (511) of the base (51) of the tape (100).
Hook-type attaching device
A retaining device includes an elastic film extending in a longitudinal direction, and a plastics tape extending in the longitudinal direction having a base presenting a bottom face and a top face and including a plurality of retaining elements extending from the top face, the device being characterized in that the film, the base, and the retaining elements are formed integrally by extrusion.
Synthetic fabric having slip resistant properties and method of making same
A synthetic nonwoven fabric having bonded fibers forming channels surrounding unbonded fibers forming raised slip resistant spots. The fabric is made by extruding hot polymer through a spinneret die onto a moving belt to form a sheet of random fibers, which sheet undergoes a calendering process between a pair of heated rollers, one of which rollers having a plurality of cavities defined in its surface. The resulting fabric can be laminated and otherwise combined with other layers as desired to provide an end product having good slip resistant properties.
THERMOPLASTIC RESIN SHEET HAVING HAIR-LIKE BODIES, AND MOLDED ARTICLE THEREOF
A thermoplastic resin sheet having hair-like bodies expressing good tactile sensation and surface quality, and a molded article thereof. The thermoplastic resin sheet is arranged regularly on at least one surface of a base layer, a continuous phase being formed without a structural boundary between the base layer and the hair-like bodies, wherein the hair-like bodies have an average height of 30 μm or more and 500 μm or less, the surface having the hair-like bodies has an L* value of 20 or less in an L*a*b* color system based on color difference measurement (JIS Z 8729), and the surface having the hairlike bodies has a 60-degree specular gloss (JIS Z 8741) of 1.5% or less.
TOUCH FASTENERS AND METHODS OF FORMATION
Aspects disclosed herein relate to forming on a substrate fastener elements suitable for use in touch fastener by employing vibration forming methods. The processes described provide for a greater flexibility in manufacturing than prior methods and overcome certain limitations in prior forming techniques. Further, the product made can embody a variety of different configurations suitable for a given application. Employing vibration forming methods, such as ultrasonic forming methods, allows for the use of a wider variety of substrate material than materials used with convention methods of touch fastener formation.
Method for producing a perforated web and product for a sanitary absorbent article thereof
A method for producing a low density perforated web material having a thickness of at least 0.20 mm, comprising the steps of: providing a layer of low density material having a maximum overall weight per square meter of 75 g/m.sup.2 or less; and processing the low density material between two rollers pressing onto each other to obtain a low density perforated web material, wherein a first roller has protrusions to perforate the low density material, and a second roller rotates at a different speed from that of the first roller and has projecting parts with contact areas arranged to perforate the material with the protrusions, the contact areas being spaced by recesses to receive the material and having larger contact face dimensions than the protrusions, the recesses leaving an impression in relief on the low density polymer material.
