TABBED ROLL OF SHEET MATERIAL AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A method and/or a machine is for tabbing a free end on a roll of sheet material. Converting a master roll of sheet material to the roll of sheet material and winding a first roll of sheet material onto a spindle at a winding position. Tabbing the free end of the roll of sheet material at a tabbing position. Where a tabber carrying a joiner are both in an initial position away from the first roll of sheet material, moving the tabber to a second position adjacent the roll of sheet material, moving the joiner into an engagement position where the joiner is engaged with the free end of the roll of sheet material. The joiner creates a tab with a combination of mechanical entanglement and heat welding. Returning the tabber and joiner to the initial positions. Doffing the tabbed roll of sheet material. The roll produced by the foregoing.
Laser-welded body and production method therefor
A laser-welded body includes at least three of resin members, which contain a thermoplastic resin including: a first resin member which is a laser-irradiated subject, has an absorbance a.sub.1 of 0.01 to 0.12; a second resin member which has an absorbance a.sub.2 of 0.1 to 0.9 and includes a butted part where ends of one or more resin members are brought into contact with each other; and a third resin member which has an absorbance a.sub.3 of 0.2 to 3.8, and the absorbances a.sub.2, a.sub.3 exhibited by the second resin member and the third resin member are attributed to the inclusion of nigrosine as a laser beam absorbent therein, and the resin members are overlapped in the above mentioned to form contacted parts at these interfaces, at least a part of the butted part and/or the contacted parts are laser-welded.
EXCLUSION DEVICE SPRINGS AND RELATED METHODS
Exclusion devices for anatomical structures, and related instruments and related methods, are disclosed. An exclusion device for an anatomical structure may include a first beam, a second beam, and/or a first spring operatively coupled to the first beam and the second beam to exert a closing force on the first beam and the second beam. The first spring may be generally U-shaped and/or may include a first end portion and a second end portion generally opposite a connecting portion.
AUTOMATED CABLE TIE INSTALLATION TOOL WITH INDUCTION WELDING JOINING MECHANISM
A system includes a body having a pair of cable jaws. The pair of cable jaws further includes a dispensing track on an inner circumference of the pair of cable jaws to retain a segment of a thermoplastic cable material. The system includes a piston. The piston is configured to secure an overlapping segment of the thermoplastic cable material at the weld area. An induction coil is configured to apply an electromagnetic field. The system includes a power supply.
Strapping method and apparatus
The invention relates to a method for producing strapping. A strapping band (4) is first guided about at least one packaging piece, tightened, and equipped with a closure at band ends (4a, 4b) to be connected in a closure unit (1). Furthermore, at least one sensor (7) connected to a control unit (8) is provided in the closure unit (1). One or more closure parameters are detected by means of the control unit (8) using the sensor (7), and the closure unit (1) is correspondingly actuated. According to the invention, the sensor (7) is designed as a load cell (7) which is let into a compression ram (6a, 6b) of the closure unit (1).
HEAT SEALING APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A heating block assembly including one or more configurable insulator segments and a heater block having a first surface configured to removably receive the one or more configurable insulator segments, in which each of the one or more configurable insulator segments covers only a portion of the first surface. A method for sealing at least one portion of a package using such a heating block assembly is also disclosed.
Conduit and method of forming
A thin ribbon spirally wound polymer conduit and method of forming, wherein a helical reinforcing bead is interposed adjacent overlapping layers of ribbon. Further, a method of continuously forming spirally wound conduit wherein a sacrificial layer, preferably having a different base polymer to that of the conduit, is first applied to the former before the conduit is formed overtop.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REINFORCING PIPING AND INSTALLING A PIPE ADAPTER
A method of joining a non-metallic pipe to a metallic pipe. The pipe may be wrapped with one or more sheets of reinforcement material (e.g., pre-impregnated fiberglass, carbon fiber, or aramid fiber) and then fitted with an adapter or fitting that is connectable to a metallic pipe. The reinforcement material may be heated using a heating apparatus which allows the material to bond to the pipe to strengthen the joint.
LIMB FOR BREATHING CIRCUIT
A limb for a breathing circuit manufactured from very thin walled polymer materials has an elongate axial reinforcing spine lying freely inside the conduit and fixed to each end connector. The spine is laterally compliant but axially stiff. The spine provides resistance to tensile and compressive loads on the conduit, including that induced by prevailing internal pressures.
DEVICE FOR WELDING TWO OVERLAPPING FILM SECTIONS SITUATED ON ONE SIDE OF A GOODS STACK, PREFERABLY ON THE UPPER SIDE OF A GOODS STACK, TO FORM A WRAPPING
The invention is a device for welding two overlapping film sections situated on one side of a goods stack. The device includes a welding bar with a welding surface oriented in the direction of the film sections to be welded. The spacing between the welding bar and the film sections is reducible. The welding surface is elastically deformable into a concave course and/or to a convex course between its two ends. At least one displacing device adjusts the course of the welding surface to a concave and/or to a convex course. The displacing device displaces welding bar. A control unit of the welding bar individually controllable, such that the curvature of the welding bar is adjustable to the contour of the side of the goods stack in the region of the film sections to be welded with one another for the subsequent welding of the overlapping film sections.
