The present invention relates to a method for producing a container which consists of a thermoplastic at least to some extent and comprises at least a first compartment element and at least a second compartment element joined to the first compartment element in a joining region by thermoplastic welding. The invention also relates to a plastic container which can be, and preferably is, produced according to said method.

A pair of thermoplastic resin members are placed on an anvil. A pressing force of a tool horn vibrating ultrasonically in a direction not perpendicular to but along upper surfaces of the pair of thermoplastic resin members is applied to the upper surfaces. The application of the pressing force of the tool horn vibrating ultrasonically allows melting of a vicinity of the upper surfaces of the pair of thermoplastic resin members. A welded structure part is formed on an unwelded structure part, thereby welding the pair of thermoplastic resin members as an overlap structure including the welded structure part arranged on the unwelded structure part. The distance and positional relationship between the pair of thermoplastic resin members after the welding are unchanged before and after the welding. The surfaces, placed on the anvil, of the thermoplastic resin members are neither burned nor discolored.

A method includes braiding a first set of fibers to form a weave having a closed cross-sectional shape, braiding a second set of fibers into the weave that are chemically distinct from the first set of fibers, impregnating the weave with a resin, and hardening the resin within the weave to form a hybrid composite part.

Provided is a laser welded body which can be manufactured without undergoing complicated steps and maintain the characteristics of a resin contained in a resin member, which exhibits high welding strength even when scanned with a laser beam at a high speed, and which can be manufactured at high production efficiency. The laser welded body 10 comprises a first resin member 1 which is a laser-irradiated subject which contains a thermoplastic resin and nigrosine sulfate and has an absorbance a.sub.1 of 0.09 to 0.9; and a second resin member 2 which contains a thermoplastic resin as the same kind as or different kind from the thermoplastic resin and a laser beam absorbent, and has an absorbance a.sub.2 of 3.0 to 15, wherein the first resin member 1 and the second resin member 2 are laser-welded at a part at which the both resin members are overlapped and/or butted.

Provided is a laser welded body which can be integrated through a laser-welding step without undergoing complicated steps even through use of the same or difference resin members each other, which has excellent welding strength between the resin members, which maintains the characteristics of a resin contained in the resin member and which exhibits the high welding strength by improving meltability of the resin members yet under a laser-welding condition of a medium and high scan speed. A laser welded body comprises a resin member(s) which contains a thermoplastic resin and nigrosine sulfate having a sulfate ion concentration of 0.3 to 5.0% by mass and has an absorbance a of 0.09 to 0.9, an adjoined part where the resin member(s) is overlapped and/or butted, and at least a part of the adjoined part is laser-welded.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LASER-WELDING A WORKPIECE WITH A LASER BEAM THAT REACHES INACCESSIBLE AREAS OF THE WORKPIECE USING MULTIPLE REFLECTING PARTS
Device and method for laser welding around a circumference of a workpiece. A fixed, non-movable unitary optical reflector has a pair of optical reflecting surface portions on a first side surface and a second side surface, respectively, arranged at an obtuse angle relative to each other. A workpiece is fixed in an assembly having the reflector. During setup, the vertical distance is adjusted between the reflector and workpiece along an axis that is transverse to a longitudinal axis thereof without any adjustment of the reflecting surfaces. The first and second side surfaces define a curve that is transverse to the longitudinal axis. Once setup has been completed, a laser beam is directed so that it moves along the optical reflector to thereby produce a 360 degree circumferential weld around the workpiece. Another assembly is provided to change the laser beam direction multiple times to irradiate a circumference of a fixed workpiece from a fixed laser source.

In some examples, manufacturing techniques for implantable medical devices are described. An example method may including positioning a metal housing component adjacent to a polymer housing component so that there is an interface between the metal housing component and the polymer housing component; and forming a seal at the interface between the metal housing component and the polymer housing component to join the metal housing component and the polymer housing component, wherein the joined metal housing component and the polymer housing component form at least a portion of housing for the implantable medical device, wherein the housing of the implantable medical device contains electronic circuitry.
