Each sealing station comprises a sealing device with first and second jaws and an actuator device to move the jaws between an opened position and a clamped position. Each sealing device comprises a motion device that is configured to move the first and second jaws in synchronicity with the superimposed walls when clamped between the first and second jaws. Each sealing station has a cooling device that is configured to continuously cool at least one of the jaws. At least each first jaw comprises at the respective front surface thereof at least one impulse heatable member embodied as a susceptor element that extends along the respective front surface. Each sealing station is configured to perform an integrated impulse sealing and cooling cycle.
Induction welding using a heat sink and/or cooling
A method of dissipating heat from a surface of a first thermoplastic composite (TPC) being inductively welded with a second thermoplastic composite (TPC) includes flexing a heat sink during placement to conform to the surface of the first TPC, cooling the heat sink, applying inductive heat to a weld interface area between the first TPC and the second TPC, and drawing off heat via the heat sink from the surface of the first TPC.
FIXTURES AND METHODS FOR INDUCTION WELDING
An assembly is provided for induction welding. This induction welding assembly includes a fixture. The fixture includes a first support structure and a second support structure. The second support structure includes a frame and a plurality of trunks. Each of the trunks is connected to and repositionable on the frame. The fixture is configured to secure a workpiece vertically between the first support structure and the second support structure using the trunks during induction welding of the workpiece.
Contour-forming welding tool for pulse welding and contour-forming pulse welding method for a medical pack formed as a bag
The invention relates to a welding tool and to a method for pulse welding of plastic films for medical packs formed as bags. In general, the invention provides that the film material which is plastified during welding and thus free-flowing is specifically displaced into a deepened, edge-side inner region of the sealing surface by increasing the sealing surface area. The film material accumulated in the recess leads to an increase in the film thickness in the inner region (25i) of the weld seam (6, 7, 8). As a result, the mechanical stability of the medical pack formed as a bag can be improved.
WEB PROCESSING MACHINES WITH ULTRASONIC SEALERS
In certain examples, a machine that forms a web into bags or pouches includes a sealing section through which the web is conveyed in a machine direction. The sealing section is configured to form a lap seal in the web and has an input end configured to receive the web which has a first web section and a second web section. An ultrasonic sealer with a horn and an anvil defines a nip therebetween through which the first web section passes. The ultrasonic sealer is configured to form the lap seal in the first web section. The anvil is positioned between the first web section and the second web section. An output end is configured to dispense the web with the lap seal formed therein.
Process for joining overlapping thermoplastic membrane components
A method of joining overlapping thermoplastic roofing membrane components in which a first thermoplastic roofing membrane component and a second roofing membrane component are positioned in overlapping relationship between a pair of complementary molding surfaces. Heat is generated in a metal substrate and transferred by thermal conduction from the metal substrate to overlapping portions of the first and second thermoplastic roofing membrane components to locally melt and coalesce a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the first thermoplastic roofing membrane component and a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the second thermoplastic roofing membrane component. The molten thermoplastic material of the first and second thermoplastic roofing membrane components forms a zone of coalesced thermoplastic material that, upon cooling, forms a solid weld joint.
Apparatus and method for establishing or for separating a connection having material continuity or having material continuity and shape matching of at least one metal or ceramic component and of a component formed from or by a thermoplastic polymer
The invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for establishing a connection having material continuity or having material continuity and shaping matching or for separating such a connection of at least one metal or ceramic component and of a component formed from or by a thermoplastic polymer in which the components to be joined together can be pressed together by a pressing device having a counterholder and a plunger. A heating device is present at the plunger and/or at the counterholder or acts there. A heating of the at least one metal or ceramic component up to above the softening temperature of the component formed from or by polymer can be achieved with the heating device, with the heating device being having at least one electrical resistance heating element that is covered by an electrically insulating, preferably ceramic, protective film, and/or having at least one laser beam that is directed to the metal component(s) within the joining region, and/or having at least one inductor present at the plunger and/or at the counterholder for the inductive heating of the meal component(s).
Sonotrode
A sonotrode includes multiple layers of a material melted to one another to form a structure. The structure provides a base that has an attachment feature that is configured to operatively secure to an ultrasonic converter. The structure includes a shaft that extends from the base to a terminal end that provides a working surface that is configured to selectively engage a workpiece. The structure has at least one shaft that includes a first shaft that extends from the base to a first terminal end that provides a first working surface that is configured to selectively engage a workpiece. The first shaft is integrally formed with the base from the multiple layers to provide an unbroken, monolithic construction.
Separation Welding Device and Method for the Sectional Joining and Sectional Separating of Weldable Film Layers Using a Separation Welding Device
A separation welding device for the sectional joining and sectional separation of weldable film layers includes a temperature-controlled working surface that is designed to support joinable and separable film layers and further includes an electrical heating device as well as a counterholder for sectionally applying pressure to the joinable and separable film layers, which delimits a variably adjustable working gap with the working surface and that includes two mutually spaced joining stamps and one separating stamp arranged between the joining stamps wherein the separating stamp and/or at least one joining stamp is moveably attached to the counterholder wherein provision can be made for the separating stamp and/or the joining stamp to each be assigned a force sensor and/or a motion sensor to calculate a separation sequence determined by the separating stamp and/or a joining sequence determined by the joining stamp.
Pulse welding method and welding tool for pulse welding for a medical pack formed as a bag
The invention relates to a welding tool and a method for pulse welding films of plastic for medical packs formed as bags. The invention generally provides for the film material that has been plastified during welding, and is consequently free-flowing, to be specifically displaced by increasing the sealing surface area. The displaced film material can for instance compensate for dimensional and form tolerances. At the same time, however, the strength of the welded seam region, which adjoins the interior space of the bag, is not reduced.
