Cross-linked pex forming after assembly
A tube assembly including a cross-linked polyethylene tube having a radial projection and a coupler, and a method for forming the tube assembly. A forming assembly is configured to dispose the radial projection of the cross-linked polyethylene tube through the coupler after the completion of the cross-linking process.
Methods and systems for identifying processing locations in composite layups
Described are methods and systems for identifying processing locations in composite layups. An optical magnetic marker is magnetically supported by a layup tool at a target position, such that a portion of the marker protrudes above the tool processing surface. When a composite layup is placed onto that surface, the protruding portion extends into the layup at a processing location. When the layup is cured, the marker is permanently embedded into the layup. Separating the cured layup from the tool removes the marker from the tool and allows an additional marker to advance into the target position for processing another layup. The embedded marker or, more specifically, marker's reflective surface is used during optical inspection of the layup surface to precisely determine the processing location. In some examples, the marker is consumed while the layup is processed at that location,
Electronic cigarette with oval shaped cross section and manufacturing process thereof
The invention discloses an oval-shaped electronic cigarette and manufacturing process thereof. Inner housing of vaporization assembly is arranged inside outer housing of vaporization assembly and sleeved on vaporization assembly which comprises e-cigarette liquid cup and vaporizer having an outer wall in close fit with inner wall of the inner housing of vaporization assembly. A space is formed between outer wall of the e-cigarette liquid cup and inner wall of the inner housing of vaporization assembly to serve as a vapor flow channel. The inner housing of vaporization assembly is arranged at one end with vapor flow outlet, the outer edge of which is hermetically connected with and pressed against bell-mouth structure formed on the mouthpiece.
Method and tool for molding a composite pressure vessel liner to a boss
A method for molding a composite pressure vessel liner to secure a boss to the liner is described. The method comprises providing a moldable liner having an end section with a neck and a port. A boss is positioned around the neck of the liner and the liner is heated and pressure is applied to mold the liner to form to the shape of the boss. The angle of the molded liner secures the boss in place around the liner and it is able to withstand high pressures. A tool for molding the liner and a method for using the tool is also described. The tool comprises a tool body and a pipe having external threads. The tool body abuts the liner and the boss. Winding the pipe exerts pressure on the liner, which when heated, forces the liner to mold to the shape of the boss.
Diaphragm check valves and methods of manufacture thereof
Microscale valves for use in, e.g., micropump devices, may be formed of a slitted diaphragm bonded to the interior of a valve tube. A bump in the diaphragm and/or a backward-leakage stopper may increase the breakdown pressure of the valve. A push-rod may be used to pre-load the valve membrane to thereby increase the cracking pressure.
Support structure in framework construction, and method for producing same
A support structure in a framework construction is provided. The support structure includes a first and a second rod of an axle support of a motor vehicle, a positioning element, and a first and a second fiber winding. The positioning element fixes an alignment of the first rod relative to an alignment of the second rod. A first support section of the positioning element is drawn by the first fiber winding in the direction of a support section of the first rod, and a second support section of the positioning element is drawn by the second fiber winding in the direction of a support section of the second rod in order to hold the first and second rods in the fixed alignment relative to each other by a frictional connection.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN TUBE BODY
A method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced resin tube body includes: a preparing step of preparing a cylindrical expandable body having fiber wound therearound; an installing step of installing the expandable body in a mold after the preparing step; a flowing step of flowing resin into the mold, in which the expandable body is placed, after the installing step; and an expanding step of expanding the expandable body toward an inner wall of the mold after the flowing step.
Apparatus and methods for sealing a vascular puncture
A sealant for sealing a puncture through tissue includes a first section, e.g., formed from freeze-dried hydrogel, and a second section extending from the distal end. The second section may be formed from PEG-precursors including PEG-ester and PEG-amine, e.g., in an equivalent ratio of active group sites of PEG-ester/PEG-amine greater than one-to-one, e.g., such that excess esters may provide faster activation upon contact with physiological fluids and enhance adhesion of the sealant within a puncture. At least some of the precursors remain in an unreactive state until exposed to an aqueous physiological environment, e.g., within a puncture, whereupon the precursors undergo in-situ cross-linking to provide adhesion to tissue adjacent the puncture. For example, the PEG-amine precursors may include the free amine form and the salt form. The free amine form at least partially cross-links with the PEG-ester and the salt form remains in the unreactive state in the sealant before introduction into the puncture.
TUBULAR WITH SCREW THREAD
The invention relates to an improved filament-reinforced tubular, and a method for providing such a tubular. A filament-reinforced tubular according to the invention comprises a tubular body (2), the tubular body comprising multiple fibre mats (10) encapsulated in a thermoset material (11), and is at least at one end provided with a male screw thread (3) comprising threading. According to the invention, the threading comprises a core member (12, 16). Furthermore, the threading comprises one or more fibre mats (13) that cover the core member. The one or more fibre mats are pulled between the windings of the core member by a positioning wire (14). The core member, the one or more fibre mats, and the positioning wire, are encapsulated by a, preferably thermoset, cover material (15), which cover material defines the shape of the screw thread.
Container and Method of Forming a Container
An insulating container can be configured to retain a volume of liquid, and include a first inner wall having a first end having an opening extending into an internal reservoir, and a second outer wall forming an outer shell. The second outer wall can include a second end configured to support the container on a surface. The second outer wall can include a dimple, and the dimple can include a circular base and an inner portion converging to an opening extending into the second outer wall. The opening can be sealed by a resin, and the circular base can be covered by disc formed of the material. The outer wall and the inner wall can be constructed from different materials such that the outer wall is harder and resists indentation, and the inner wall reduces the overall weight of the container.
