Repair or resumption of manufacture of a composite material part with fibrous three-dimensional woven reinforcement
A method for repairing a part made of composite material includes producing a recessed section by removing the composite material at a damaged area, producing grooves extending on the two faces of the part from edges of the recessed section, producing orifices in the part opening out into the grooves, tree-dimensional weaving of a filling part fiber preforms including a central section having a shape corresponding to the shape of the recessed section and fiber bundles extending from the central section, placing the filling preforms respectively on either face of the part with the fiber bundles in the grooves on the faces of the part and in the orifices such that the fiber bundles open out into the grooves present on the opposite face of the part, impregnating the filling fiber preforms with a precursor resin of a matrix, transforming the resin into a matrix to obtain a filling part.
Methods for treating field operated components
A method for treating a field operated component is disclosed which includes providing the component including a ceramic matrix composite and removing a first portion of the component, forming a first exposed surface on the component. The method further includes providing a second portion including the composite, the second portion having a second exposed surface including a conformation adapted to mate with the first exposed surface. The second portion is positioned in association with the component so as to replace the first portion, and the second portion and the component are joined to form a treated component. Another method is disclosed wherein the component is a turbine component which further includes removing an environmental barrier coating from the component, arranging and conforming the first exposed surface and the second exposed surface to define a joint, and applying an environmental barrier coating to the treated component.
Repair patch, method for molding repair patch, and method for repairing composite material
A repair patch is for a composite material to repair a part to be repaired which is a repair target of the composite material. The patch includes a patch main body that is formed by laminating a plurality of fiber reinforced preforms in a thickness direction, and has a bonding surface to be bonded to the part to be repaired; and a removal layer that is provided on the bonding surface to be peelable off from the patch main body. The bonding surface includes an inclined surface that is inclined with respect to the thickness direction of the patch main body. The removal layer includes a processed portion that causes the removal layer to have a shape complementary to a shape of the inclined surface of the patch main body.

Repair including a chamfered bracket and a chamfered bracket component for reinforcing a damaged structural element made from composite materials
A repair for a structural element made from a composite material includes a bracket defining a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is adapted for facing the structural element. A chamfer is located on a first end of the bracket. An angle is defined between a plane of the chamfer and a plane of the first surface, the first surface of the bracket being adapted to be disposed adjacent to a side of the structural element. The repair also includes a sealant material between the bracket and the structural element, where the sealant material occupies a space established between the chamfer and the structural element.

REPAIRING OR RESUMING PRODUCTION OF A COMPONENT MADE OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL
A gas turbine component made of composite material includes a fiber reinforcement having a three-dimensional weave between a plurality of warp threads and a plurality of weft threads, the fiber reinforcement being densified by a matrix. The densified fiber reinforcement extends in width between a downstream end and an upstream end in an axial direction and in thickness between an inner surface and an outer surface in a radial direction. The fiber reinforcement densified by the matrix has a hollowed-out portion extending through the entire thickness of the fiber reinforcement. A composite material filler piece is present in the free volume of the component delimited by the hollowed-out portion, the filler piece including a fiber preform having a three-dimensional weave, the fiber preform being densified by a matrix.
