CARRIER WITH LOCALIZED FIBROUS INSERT AND METHODS
A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (ii) at least one consolidated fibrous insert (14) having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier may be a mass of activatable material.
Devices, systems, and methods for providing sealable access to a working channel
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to valve configurations providing sealable access for medical instruments to a working channel, such as a working channel for an endoscope.
Carrier with localized fibrous insert and methods
A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.
AUTOMOBILES WEATHER STRIP STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD
A method for manufacturing an automobile weather strip comprises: (a) weather strip manufacturing step wherein the seam material and a thermoplastic elastomer are extruded and molded; (b) pretreatment step wherein the surface of the weather strip manufactured is pretreated; (c) slip agent applying step wherein a slip agent made by mixing silicone and polyurethane is applied to the surface of the weather strip pretreated through the pretreatment step; and (d) curing step wherein the slip agent coating layer formed through the slip agent applying step is cured.
SEALING METHOD
A sealing method for sealing an opening of a metallic molded body with a resin molded body, the metallic molded body having a cavity therein and an opening connected to the cavity, includes a step of irradiating laser light onto a joining surface on a periphery of the opening of the metallic molded body in an energy density of 1 MW/cm.sup.2 or more and at an irradiation rate of 2000 mm/sec or more to roughen the surface, and a step of placing, in a mold, a portion including the joining surface of the metallic molded body roughened in the preceding step and sealing the opening with a resin molded body formed by injection molding or compression molding of a resin.
FASTENABLE MEMBER FOR SEALING, BAFFLING OR REINFORCING AND METHOD OF FORMING SAME
There is disclosed a member for sealing, baffling and/or reinforcing components of an automotive vehicle. The assembly generally includes a carrier, an expandable material and at least one fastener.
Rotary seal and method of making same
A seal configuration, mold and manufacturing process that inhibits undesirable elastomer migration onto critical radially inwardly facing portions of a plastic-lined dynamic sealing lip, for improved high-pressure seal operation.
Flexible corner trim product
A trim piece for sealing a work surface including a body having a first side, a second side, and a span disposed between the first side and the second side, wherein the first side and the second side are joined at a junction defining an angle between the first side and the second side of between 80 degrees and 100 degrees, a topcap is affixed to the span of the body, wherein the topcap includes a left side having a first wing and a right side having a second wing, an adhesive is bonded to the first side of the body and an aperture is disposed within the body.
SEALING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEALING
A method and apparatus for applying a seal to a structure, for example sealing an aircraft fuel tank. The method comprises: providing a mould part; positioning the mould part against a surface of the structure thereby to create a mould cavity between the mould part and the surface; introducing a sealant into the mould cavity; curing the sealant within the mould cavity thereby to apply the seal to the surface; and removing the mould part from the surface with the seal applied thereto. The sealant may be a UV curing sealant and curing the sealant may comprise passing UV light through the mould part.
WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ISOLATING DISSIMILAR METALS IN THE WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY
A weatherstrip assembly includes a body having a carrier or core formed from a first metal for providing strength and rigidity to the body. A show surface of the weatherstrip assembly is formed of a second metal different than the first metal. The second metal acts as the show surface of the weatherstrip assembly. An isolative, electrically low conductivity layer is received only on portions of the first metal that are disposed adjacent to portions of the second metal and potentially subject to electrical contact therebetween.
