Athletic gear or other devices comprising post-molded expandable components
A device (e.g., an article of athletic gear) comprising a post-molded expandable component, which is a part of the device that is configured to be expanded or has been expanded after being molded. This may allow the post-molded expandable component to have enhanced characteristics (e.g., be more shock-absorbent, lighter, etc.), to be cost-effectively manufactured (e.g., by using less material and/or making it in various sizes), and/or to be customized for a user (e.g., by custom-fitting it to the user).
Method of forming an article
Methods of forming an article from a molten plastic composition comprising a polymer and a blowing agent. The methods include injecting the molten plastic composition into a mould, allowing the plastic composition to form a first solid skin adjacent to an in contact with a first cavity-forming surface of the mould and a second solid skin adjacent to and in contact with a second cavity-forming surface of the mould, and then opening the mould before the molten plastic composition between the first and second solid skins in at least one portion of the circumference of a region of the mould cavity defining an annular cross-section of the cavity has solidified.
Fibre reinforcement of reactive foams obtained by a moulding foam method
The present invention relates to a molding made of reactive foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is arranged partially inside the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the reactive foam. The two ends of the respective fiber (F) not surrounded by the reactive foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The reactive foam is produced by a mold foaming process. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings according to the invention from reactive foam/the panels according to the invention and also provides for the use thereof as a rotor blade in wind turbines for example.
Synthetic leather for steering wheel cover having improved durability and method for preparing the same
The present invention relates to a synthetic leather for a steering wheel cover of a vehicle, and a method for preparing the same. The synthetic leather including a fiber base layer (101) including a microfiber nonwoven fabric, an urethane porous layer (102) formed on the fiber base layer, a polyurethane resin skin layer (104) formed on the urethane porous layer, and prepared by polymerizing an isocyanate compound and a polyol compound including polycarbonate-based polyol, fluorine-based polyol and ester-based polyol, and an adhesive layer (103) for adhering the urethane porous layer and the skin layer.
Acoustic attenuation panel comprising a front skin and a central structure
An acoustic attenuation panel for a propulsion assembly includes an acoustic front skin having perforations, and a central structure formed from partitions arranged perpendicularly in order to make up cells, wherein the front skin and the central structure form the panel which is made as a single piece and is provided for directly covering a surface of an element of the propulsion assembly forming a rear skin which closes the cells of the central structure at the rear.
Device and method for producing a particle foam part
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the production of a particle foam part, wherein a mould cavity (5) is filled with foam particles, the foam particles are welded into a particle foam part and the particle foam part is cooled down in the mould. The foam particles are heated by means of a ceramic body (17) with integrated resistance heating and by the application of electromagnetic waves.
Clamping device, molding apparatus, and molding method
A clamping device (14) comprises a pressure receiving platen (24), a stationary platen (20), a movable platen (22), a toggle mechanism (28), and a drive device (37). A first position detector (38a) detects the operation amount of the movable platen (22) based on the position of a crosshead (26); a pressure detector (35) detects the actual clamping force of a mold (19); and a second position detector (43) detects the actual position of the movable platen (22). A control portion (50) has first correction means correcting the operation amount of the movable platen (22) at the time of a minute mold opening operation based on the actual clamping force and on the set clamping force, and second correction means correcting the operation amount of the movable platen (22) at the time of the minute mold opening operation based on the operation amount of the movable platen (22) and on the position of the movable platen (22).
Anti-flutter baffle
A baffle assembly for use in a transportation vehicle, comprising a carrier including an interior portion that includes a plurality of walls extending upward, a rim portion that extends to substantially surround the interior portion and a fastener that extends upward from the rim portion in the same direction as the plurality of walls. The baffle also includes a resinous sealant that includes a polymer that is adapted for thermal expansion upon activation by heat that is located on at least a portion of the interior portion wherein the rim portion is substantially free of any sealant.
Methods and systems for manufacturing foam wall structures
Methods for manufacturing foam wall structures are described. The methods include placing a wall structure proximate to a robotic arm, orienting an imaging device so that the imaging device on the robotic arm faces a cavity in the wall structure, surveying the cavity using the imaging device, determining a spray foaming pattern to fill the cavity to a selected depth with a foam layer, orienting the spray nozzle so the spray nozzle faces the cavity, and spray-applying the foam-forming composition into the cavity to the selected depth by passing the foam-forming composition through the spray nozzle to form the foam layer. Foam wall structure manufacturing systems that are suitable for carrying out such methods are also described.
Holder for implements and method for producing such a holder
A support for an equipment, where the support comprises at least one reception imprint which is concave and designed to receive at least partially the equipment and at least one coating made of waterproof elastomer designed to come into contact with the equipment.
