POLYPROPYLENE POLYMERS FOR POWDER BED FUSION BASED ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
The invention relates to a sinterable polymer composition, comprising: a random copolymer of propylene and an olefinic comonomer, containing about 2 to 10 wt % olefinic comonomer content, relative to 100 wt % of the random copolymer. The sinterable polymer composition may also contain at least one of a clarifier and a nucleator, and/or at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a primary antioxidant, a secondary antioxidant, an acid scavenger, a peroxide, an enhanced IR energy absorber, a long-term heat agent, and a polyolefin elastomer. The sinterable polymer composition has a melt flow rate from about 1 to 150 g/10 min (230° C./2.16 kg), measured according to ASTM D 1238; a crystallization temperature, Tc, from about 105 to 150° C.; and a xylene solubles content, XS, from about 3% to 40%.
Molding process for making fuel cell components
An illustrative method of making a fuel cell component includes obtaining at least one blank plate including graphite and a polymer; establishing a temperature of the blank that is sufficient to maintain the polymer in an at least partially molten state; and applying a compression molding force to the blank until the polymer is essentially solidified to form a plate including a plurality of channels on at least one side of the plate. The blank plate has a central area having a first thickness. The blank plate also has two generally parallel edges on opposite sides of the central area. The edges have a second thickness that is greater than the first thickness.

A laminate tube with an invisible longitudinal overlapped side seam formed from overlap welding an edge of one margin of a laminate sheet comprising an outer plastic layer (A), a barrier layer (B), and an inner plastic layer (C) of the same material type as the outer plastic layer (A) to the other edge of the opposite margin of the laminate sheet, such that an inner surface of the laminate tube has a hump in a overlapped region, while an outer surface of the laminate tube is smooth without a hump in the overlapped region; and a process for manufacturing the laminate tube by a laminate tube manufacturing machine. The laminate permits fracture-proof welding of longitudinal margins of said laminate to give a continuous tube which is suitable for manufacturing of high-quality plastic tubes, high-quality plastic bags and the like.

An apparatus is configured to make containers from sheet material. The apparatus includes a supply station for supplying a film having at least one folded portion having three or more film flaps folded and superimposed with respect to each other; a welding station configured to receive the film. The welding station comprises a welding head configured for welding the folded portion of the film and forming a container defining a housing compartment; the welding head comprises a heater made of electrically conductive material whose electrical resistivity, at least in a predetermined temperature range, decreases upon the increase of the temperature of the same electrically conductive material.
