Method to fabricate glassy-metal polymer composites
A method for the production of a glassy metal polymer composite is disclosed. The method comprises adding a polymer and a metal to an extruder, wherein the extruder is heated to an extrusion temperature greater than the melting point of the polymer and the melting point of the metal; mixing the metal and the polymer in the extruder for a predefined residence time; and co-extruding the composite from the extruder.
Methods and formulations for bonding dissimilar materials
The present disclosure is directed to a formulations of cements and methods for bonding dissimilar materials. The formulations and methods can bond a Non-polyvinyl chloride (PVC) containing first polyolefin that is amorphous or has low crystallinity to a second material that is a rigid material or a hard PVC. The methods and formulations can work by co-dissolution at an interface, or activation of a one of the materials prior to bonding.

Fabrication method for micro-/nanostructured compound-eye arrays with hydrophobicity and light trapping and applications thereof
The present invention relates to micro-/nanostructured compound-eye arrays and fabrication method thereof, and discloses a fabrication method and applications for the molded polymer parts with the micro-/nanostructured compound-eye arrays on their surfaces, which exhibit both hydrophobicity and light trapping. The fabrication method for the molded polymer parts with the micro-/nanostructured compound-eye arrays includes following steps. A flexible microlens array template is assembled; the flexible microlens array template is fixed on an injection mold cavity, and a polymer part with microlens arrays distributing on its surface is molded by using injection molding; the microlens arrays on the molded polymer part are imprinted onto the surface of an ultra-pure aluminum foil, nanopores are formed on its surface via anode oxidation, and so an aluminum template with negative micro-/nanostructured compound-eye arrays is fabricated; the aluminum template is fixed on an injection mold cavity, and a polymer part with micro-/nanostructured compound-eye arrays distributing on its surface is molded by using injection molding. The dual-level compound-eye arrays (orderly distributed convex semi-sphere microlens and densely distributed nanopillars) are developed on the surface of the molded polymer part, which exhibits both hydrophobicity and light trapping.

MALEIMIDE COPOLYMER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, RESIN COMPOSITION AND INJECTION MOLDED BODY
A maleimide based copolymer, manufacturing method thereof, and a resin composition using the maleimide based copolymer is provided. The maleimide based copolymer includes 40 to 60 mass % of aromatic vinyl monomer unit, 5 to 20 mass % of vinyl cyanide monomer unit, 35 to 50 mass % of maleimide monomer unit, and 0 to 10 mass % of monomer copolymerizable with these monomer units. The maleimide based copolymer has a glass transition temperature of 165° C. or higher and a melt mass flow rate of 25 to 80 g/10 min measured at 265° C. with 98 N load. By using such maleimide based copolymer, flowability can be improved without decreasing heat resistance providing ability.
