FIBER REINFORCED RESIN GEAR, METHOD OF FORMING FIBER REINFORCED RESIN GEAR BY INJECTION MOLDING, FIBER REINFORCED RESIN ROTARY BODY, METHOD OF FORMING FIBER REINFORCED RESIN ROTARY BODY BY INJECTION MOLDING
Plural ejector pins are made to project before a molten resin containing reinforcing fibers is injected into an inside of a cavity through pin point gates in a web forming portion in the inside of the cavity and at positions outside the pin point gates in a radial direction. The ejector pins are retracted from the inside of the cavity after a flow of the molten resin containing reinforcing fibers injected into the inside of the cavity through the pin point gates impinges on the ejector pins and is divided and before a tooth portion forming portion in the inside of the cavity is filled with the molten resin containing reinforcing fibers. Accordingly, weld lines which extend along the radial direction are formed at positions outside the ejector pins in the radial direction, and the molten resin is filled in portions formed after the ejector pins are retracted.
HIGH PRESSURE COMPOSITE PRESSURE VESSEL METHOD OF MANUFACTURE AND PRODUCT
A method of manufacturing a high-pressure composite pressure vessel for high-pressure being at or above 70 bar (1000 PSI or 7 MPa) includes providing an expandable core vessel defining a hoop section between end domes. An aligned discontinuous fiber composite material is wrapped over the expandable core vessel aligning with a plurality of load paths present in the expandable core vessel being over the hoop section and end domes. The aligned discontinuous fiber composite material has fibers in a prepreg tape that are at least 5 mm in length to 100 mm in length or less. Next, a continuous fiber-reinforced composite is wrapped over the aligned discontinuous fiber-reinforced composite along the hoop section and not wrapped along the end domes. The expandable core vessel may be pressurized and heated to consolidate the composite overwrap. Finally, the vessel is cooled under pressure resulting in the high-pressure composite pressure vessel.
Fiber reinforced materials with improved fatigue performance
A fiber-reinforced fabric, composite materials formed from such fabrics, and methods of making the fiber-reinforced fabric or composite materials, are provided. The fabrics and composite materials demonstrate improved fatigue performance relative to conventional fiber-reinforced fabrics.
Fibre reinforcement of reactive foams obtained by a moulding foam method
The present invention relates to a molding made of reactive foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is arranged partially inside the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the reactive foam. The two ends of the respective fiber (F) not surrounded by the reactive foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The reactive foam is produced by a mold foaming process. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings according to the invention from reactive foam/the panels according to the invention and also provides for the use thereof as a rotor blade in wind turbines for example.
Thrust reverser cascade and method of manufacture
A thrust reverser cascade of an aircraft engine comprises a frame and a vane overmolded onto the frame. The frame and the vane each comprise reinforcement fibers in a thermoplastic matrix. A method is disclosed for manufacturing the thrust reverser cascade or another part comprising an aerodynamic surface configured to interact with a flow of fluid. The method comprises providing a first portion of the part and overmolding a second portion of the part onto the first portion where the second portion includes the aerodynamic surface.
FIBER REINFORCED RESIN SCREW
The present invention is relates to a fiber reinforced resin screw 10, 20 shaped using a resin composition containing reinforcing fiber in a resin. A pitch of threads has a length of 1.5 to 2 times of a standard pitch corresponding to an outer diameter of the threads prescribed in standards of a metric coarse screw, a unified coarse screw and a unified fine screw. An average fiber length of the reinforcing fiber is 1 to ⅓ times of the pitch of the threads in the fiber reinforced resin screw. A content rate of the reinforcing fiber is in a range of 20 to 80%. In this way, the fiber reinforced resin screw to have improved is provided in the strength of the thread.
Chopped fiber composite sorting and molding systems and methods
Chopped fiber composite systems and methods are disclosed. Sorting systems include a conveyor, an imager, a plurality of receptacles, a pneumatic device, and controller. Molding systems include a conveyor, an imager, a mold, a pneumatic device, and a controller. The controller directs the pneumatic device to alter the freefall of chopped fiber composite pieces based on characteristics of the chopped fiber composite pieces as they drop from the conveyor and into a receptacle or a mold. Sorting and molding methods include dropping chopped fiber composite pieces, detecting characteristics of the dropping pieces, and directing the pieces based on the detected characteristics.
Method for producing a material web, use thereof as a reinforcing ply for an elastomer item, and vehicle pneumatic tires
The invention is directed to a vehicle pneumatic tire wherein strengthening plies are provided with steel cords running parallel to one another. The belt plies can be used, as isolated electrically conductive plates, for supplying electricity to electrical consumers such as sensors and actuators installed in the tire. Adjacent belt plies can be connected by puncture sensors to be able to identify damage to the belt caused by metallic parts penetrating from the outside, such as nails, on the basis of a change in the electrical resistance.
Method for Composite Truss Manufacturing
Methods for fabricating fiber-composite truss structures comprise a) individually molding multiple unit cells of a given size, and subsequently fusing them together in a repeating pattern, b) cross members are consolidated with longerons while maintaining continuity of fiber in the longerons, and c) compression-molded truss components are unioned to continuous fiber beams by means of mechanically interlocking joints.
