Method for renovating the interior of a hollow structure
A method for renovating the interior of a hollow structure such as a sewerage pit (1) is described. The method provides an access opening (16) to the hollow structure (1); provides a plurality of material sheets (3) comprising reinforcing fibers and a curable resin composition through the access opening (16) and against a wall (11a, 11b) of the hollow structure (1); and provides an inflatable pressure means (4a, 4b) within the hollow structure (1). The pressure means (4a, 4b) are inflated against the wall (11a, 11b). A curing means (6) is then provided within the hollow structure (1) for curing the resin composition; and the resin composition is cured to harden the material sheets and provide a renovated interior of the hollow structure (1).
Composite Exercise Weights
A method is provided for fabricating a unitary element, such as an exercise weight, including a composite material. The method includes providing a plurality of solid fragments including at least one non-thermoplastic material. The method further includes providing a plurality of solid particles including at least one thermoplastic polymer and/or elastomer material, at least 75% of the solid fragments having sizes in a fragment size range from zero to 32 millimeters and at least 75% of the solid particles having sizes in a article size range from zero to 1.5 millimeters. The method further includes forming a mixture of the plurality of solid fragments and the plurality of solid particles, the mixture including 90% to 20% of the fragments by volume and 10% to 80% of the particles by volume. The method further includes molding or extruding the mixture into a unitary element through the application of heat and/or pressure.
Three-Dimensional Printing Processes Using 1,1-Di-Activated Vinyl Compounds
A process for producing an article by three-dimensional printing includes applying a 1,1-di-activated vinyl compound-containing liquid binder over a predetermined area of a layer of solid particles. The liquid binder infiltrates gaps between the solid particles to form a first cross-sectional layer of an article, and the 1,1-di-activated vinyl compound reacts to solidify the liquid binder and bind the solid particles in the first cross-sectional layer of the article. Also provided is an article produced by the three-dimensional printing process, set forth herein.
MODULAR THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE STRUCTURES
A method for bonding thermoplastic fiber-composite parts comprises providing surface texture on one or both parts being bonded, and/or providing both parts with engagement features. Such surface textures and engagement features have a specific geometry and fiber alignment that facilitate fibrous interlock between the two parts at a bonding interface via in-situ consolidation.

METHOD OF PRODUCING A COMPONENT SHIELDED FROM ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION
A method produces a substrate shielded from electromagnetic radiation. The method includes i) providing a first polymer material (a) or a precursor thereof containing at least one conductive filler and at least a second polymer material (b) or precursor thereof; ii) obtaining a substrate by subjecting the first polymer material (a) or the precursor thereof and the second polymer material (b) or the precursor thereof to shaping with material bonding of the first polymer material (a) and the second polymer material (b), and polymerizing, if present, the precursors; and iii) at least partially surrounding an electronic component with the substrate obtained in step ii). A polymer component of the first polymer material (a) includes a thermoplastic elastomer or at least one thermoplastic elastomer, selected from the group consisting of, e.g., thermoplastic polyamide elastomers, thermoplastic copolyester elastomers, thermoplastic olefin-based elastomers, thermoplastic styrene block copolymers, polyether block amides, and mixtures thereof.

CORE AND METHOD OF FORMING STRUCTURAL BODY
A core according to one aspect of the present disclosure is a core that is inserted into a space between a skin and a stringer in a step of integrally molding the skin and the stringer, the skin including fiber-reinforced resin, the stringer having a hat-shaped section that is open toward the skin. The core includes: a first die that extends along a longitudinal direction of the stringer and contacts the skin; a second die that extends along the longitudinal direction of the stringer, is adjacent to the first die, and contacts the skin; and a third die that extends along the longitudinal direction of the stringer, is located at an opposite side of the skin across the first die and the second die, and contacts both the first die and the second die.
