SUPPORT MATERIAL FOR FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FUSED DEPOSITION MODELED STRUCTURE AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT USING SAME
Disclosed is a support material for a fused deposition modeling. The support material has excellent adhesion to a variety of model materials and is easily dissolved and removed by washing with water. Also, the waste liquid (PVA-based aqueous solution) generated after the washing operation may be allowed to be drained as it is, in compliance with environmental regulations. The support material comprises (A) PVA-based resin having a group containing sulfonic acid or a salt thereof and (B) biodegradable polyester. The (A) PVA-based resin having a group containing sulfonic acid or a salt thereof and (B) biodegradable polyester have a sea-island structure in which one is dispersed in the other as a matrix.
Method of producing a lens with an embedded foil
A lens with an embedded foil is produced by positioning a foil on a holder, providing adhesive attachment dots on the foil on surface portions opposite to the holder, positioning a front mould ensuring the contact of the dots with a front mould surface, retracting the holder and positioning a back mould opposite to the front mould. The mould is then connected with a sealing bridge to build an assembly forming a mould cavity with a pouring opening. The edge of the foil is spaced apart from the bridge and the assembly has passages between the dots, the foil, and the front mould surface allowing pouring a monomer into the cavity before curing the monomer, decomposing the assembly and cutting the lens from the polymer block.
METHOD OF PRODUCING A LENS WITH AN EMBEDDED FOIL
A method of producing a lens with an embedded foil, comprising the steps of positioning a foil (10) on a foil fixation holder, providing adhesive attachment dots (41) on the foil (10) on surface portions (12) opposite to the foil fixation holder, positioning the front mould (30) ensuring the contact of the attachment dots (41) with a surface (31) of the front mould (30), retracting the foil fixation holder and positioning a back mould (120) opposite to the front mould (30). Then the front mould (30) and the rear mould (120) are connected with a sealing bridging element (90) to build an assembly in order to form a mould cavity (45, 155) with a pouring opening, wherein the edge (11) of the foil (10) is spaced apart (112) from the bridging element (90) and the assembly comprises passages between the attachment dots (141), the foil (10) and the front mould backside (31) allowing pouring a monomer into the entire mould cavity (45, 155) before curing the monomer and decomposing the assembly as well as cutting the lens with the embedded foil from the polymer block.
ARTICLES, DIES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Articles (100, 200, 300) comprising first (101, 201, 301) and second layers (102, 202, 302) each having first and second opposed major surfaces and between the first and second layers a series of first walls (110, 210, 310) having aspect ratios between 1.5 and 5 providing a series of microchannels, and methods for making the same. Embodiment of coextruded articles described herein are useful, for example, in cushioning applications where high levels of compression are desired.
Manufacturing Method for Gear
Over an outer peripheral surface of a sleeve, a primer layer is formed that is a thermoplastic resin-based adhesive thermally melted at a temperature lower than a melting point of a thermoplastic resin formed into a resin member to exhibit adhesiveness. With the sleeve preheated, a thermoplastic resin to be formed into the resin member is annularly injection-molded over an outer periphery of the sleeve.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO COUPLE A DECORATIVE LAYER TO A PANEL VIA A HIGH-BOND ADHESIVE LAYER
Methods and apparatus to couple a decorative layer to a panel via a high-bond adhesive layer are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a panel, a high-bond adhesive layer fixed to the panel, a liner fixed to the high-bond adhesive layer that is fixed to the panel, and a first decorative layer removably coupled to the liner that is fixed to the high-bond adhesive layer via a second adhesive layer. The high-bond adhesive layer is to impede at least one of gas or vapor from escaping the panel to deter the at least one of gas or vapor from exerting a pressure on the first decorative layer to deter a portion of the first decorative layer from separating from the panel.
REFRIGERATOR DISPENSER LEVER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a refrigerator dispenser lever and a method for manufacturing the same. The lever is capable of reducing post-process activity required to assemble the components, enhancing a sense of unity between components and improving the quality and appearance of the lever by combining individual components during manufacturing using a single injection molding process.
IN-MOLD CARPET LAMINATION
A process for fabricating a molded carpet laminate includes supporting a carpet layer in a molding tool that has mold dies that define a mold cavity. The mold dies are then moved from an open position to a partially closed position. In the partially closed position, a heated polymer material is injected into the mold cavity. The heated polymer material incompletely fills the mold cavity on the working side of the carpet layer. The mold dies are then moved from the partially closed position to a closed position to spread the heated polymer material and fill the mold cavity on the working side of the carpet layer to form a molded polymer wall. The molded polymer wall adheres to the working side of the carpet layer to form a molded carpet laminate. The mold dies are then moved from the closed position and the molded carpet laminate is cooled.
OVERMOLDED PLASTIC COMPONENTS FORMED ON METALLIC PLATES
A method of forming an overmolded plastic structure on a metallic plate includes first bonding a component to the metallic plate. The component is bonded with an adhesive that adheres it to the metallic plate. A plastic structure is formed over at least a portion of the component and the metallic plate and the plastic structure primarily adheres to the component. The component can be a set of metallic signal conductors that are used to route electrical signals across the metallic plate and the adhesive can be used to electrically insulate the signal conductors from the metallic plate.
Decorative housing and manufacturing device for same
A housing included in a home appliance and used as a decorative housing is shaped like an inverted tray and includes a wood layer, a non-woven cloth layer bonded to the wood layer via a bonding resin layer, and a substrate resin layer fixed to the wood layer while infiltrating gaps between fibers in the non-woven cloth layer. A predetermined cutout pattern is formed on a colored coating film applied to a front surface of the non-woven cloth layer.
