CUSHIONING ELEMENT AND SHOE
Described are methods for manufacturing a plastic component, in particular a cushioning element for sports apparel, a plastic component manufactured with such methods, for example a sole or a part of a sole for a shoe, and a shoe with such a sole. The method for the manufacture of a plastic component includes loading a mold with a first material includes particles of an expanded material and fusing the surfaces of the particles by supplying energy. The energy is supplied in the form of at least one electromagnetic field.
METHODS FOR PRODUCING SHEET MOLDING COMPOUND AND FOR PRODUCING MOLDED PRODUCT
Provided is a method for producing a sheet molding compound, including impregnating a resin composition into carbon fibers. The viscosity at 25° C. of the resin composition is 300 to 20000 mPa.Math.s, the temperature Tc of the carbon fibers is 15° C. to 115° C. when sandwiched between the resin compositions on carrier films disposed on upper and lower sides, and the content of the carbon fibers in the sheet molding compound is 35% to 30% by mass. The method for producing a sheet molding compound can produce SMC having an excellent impregnation property into carbon fibers regardless of the carbon fiber content and thus can be preferably used for exteriors, structures, and the like of an automotive member, a railroad vehicle member, an aerospace vehicle member, a ship member, a housing equipment member, a sport member, a light vehicle member, a civil engineering and construction member, an OA equipment, etc.
Compositions Suitable for Making Edible Films or Coatings
A composition suitable for making edible films or coatings, the composition comprising a conjugate of bio fiber gum and whey protein isolate and at least one food grade antimicrobial.
Magnetic encoder manufacturing method
A magnetic encoder in which a support member and a plastic magnet do not adhere to each other is manufactured using a mold. The plastic magnet has a turning molded portion on the outer circumferential side thereof. The gate of the mold is an inner-diameter-side disk gate and a length L thereof in the axial direction is in a range of 0.2 mm≤L≤0.6 mm. The tensile strength of the material of the plastic magnet is 65 MPa or more and the Young's modulus thereof is 4000 MPa or more and 15000 MPa or less. The method includes a step of opening the mold and placing the support member as an insert object in the mold, and a step of closing the mold and injecting a melted material of the plastic magnet into a cavity through the disk gate.
Coated filament for improved additive manufacturing parts
A coated filament for use in additive manufacturing includes a base polymer layer formed of a base polymer material and a coating polymer layer formed of a coating polymer material. At least the coating polymer material is susceptible to dielectric heating in response to electromagnetic radiation, thereby promoting fusion between adjacent beads of coated filament that are deposited during the additive manufacturing process. Specifically, when electromagnetic radiation is applied to an interface area between two adjacent beads of the coated filament, the polymer coating layer melts to diffuse across the interface area, thereby preventing formation of voids. The base polymer material and the coating polymer material of the coated filament also may have similar melting points and compatible solubility parameters to further promote fusion between beads.
Surface feature transfer media and methods of use
Forming features in the surface of a bicycle component involves depositing a substance onto a substrate in a geometric pattern to form a transfer medium. Forming features may also involve positioning the transfer medium relative to an unformed bicycle component, and forming a negative of the geometric pattern in the bicycle component through the application of heat and/or pressure to the transfer medium and the unformed bicycle component. The transfer medium may be configured for use in the molding of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (“CFRP”) bicycle components and may include a substrate formed of a flexible material, and a geometric pattern formed of a hard material, the hard material different than the flexible material.
Method and Homogeneous Filament Material 3D Printed Radial Flow Fluid Treatment System
A method of forming and fluid treatment system includes a vessel that is defined by a body having an inlet constructed to be connected to a fluid source and an outlet that is constructed to be connected to a discharge passage defined by a direction of a fluid flow directed through the body. The body is preferably three-dimensionally (3D) printed as a unitary body and from a filament material to define the entirety of the body including the inlet and the outlet. The vessel is preferably formed of an antimicrobial or other materials configured to manipulate the composition of the fluid flow directed therethrough and via direct contact of the fluid flow with the interior spaces of the body of the vessel.
Method of lining a pipeline with a delayed curing resin composition
A resin composition and method for installing a pipe liner that allows the liner to be fully wet out with a resin and activator and stored for a period of up to six months prior to installation and curing. A method of lining a pipe with a delayed curing resin composition is also provided that includes fully wetting out a liner with a blended two part epoxy composition such that the liner can be transported in a wet out fashion, placed in a pipe to be lined and repositioned as needed without concern for the resin composition to begin curing.
ANTIBACTERIAL MOLDED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
An antibacterial molded article that can further increase antibacterial performance. The present invention for achieving the above object is related to an antibacterial molded article including a resin molded article. The resin molded article has an antibacterial area on a surface of the resin molded article, the antibacterial area having a prominent protrusion ratio of 3% or greater and 25% or less. Alternatively, the resin molded article has an antibacterial area on a surface of the resin molded article, the antibacterial area having: a maximum height of profile defined by JIS B 0601 (2013) of 100 nm or greater and less than 500 nm, and a plurality of capture protrusions having a height of not less than half the maximum height of profile (Rz), in which an average distance between the plurality of capture protrusions is 1.5 μm or greater and 7 μm or less.
