OVER MANDREL EXTRUSION FOR COMPOSITE PCP STATOR
Techniques for forming a helical rubber hose are provided. Such techniques include modified crosshead extrusion techniques in which an elastomer is melted, fed into a crosshead assembly, and extruded on a helical mandrel fed through the crosshead assembly to form a hose. In techniques described herein, relative axial and rotational motion of the mandrel and a die plate at or on the outlet or output of the crosshead assembly are kinematically matched such that the distance of relative axial movement of the mandrel per one revolution equals one pitch of the mandrel.
Lamination process and using coated fiber cores to create an adhesive layer and/or a reinforcement layer
The invention includes a method of providing an intermediary layer in a laminated structure, between two adjacent layers, where the intermediary layer contains a fiber having an extrusion coating. The intermediary layer may form a textile constructed from the fibers, the intermediary layer, when the lamination method proceeds, provides the adhesion between the adjacent layers, as well as reinforcement for the laminated structure.
HYDRAULIC FITTING, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF IN ROBOT SYSTEMS
In an implementation, a hydraulic assembly comprising an end section of a hydraulic hose formed from a volume of material, the end section having a first outer diameter and an open end, is formed by molding a flange in the end section of the hydraulic hose, and threading an annular gasket onto the end section of the hydraulic hose between the flange and the open end of the hydraulic hose, and adjacent to the flange. The flange is formed in the volume of material, and has a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. The molding of the flange may include applying heat to a mold, inserting the open end of the end section of the hydraulic hose into the mold, and thermally deforming a portion of the end section of the hydraulic hose to form the flange.
MULTILAYER HOSE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
In certain embodiments, a hose includes an inner tube, a filler material, and an outer cover. The inner tube has a cross-sectional shape and includes a cavity for transporting a substance. The filler material is provided around an outer periphery of the inner tube. The filler material includes a self-sealing material or a self-healing material. The outer cover is provided around an outer periphery of the filler material such that the filler material is between the outer cover and the inner tube. The outer cover has a D-shaped cross-sectional shape.
COMPOSITE TAPE SPLICING
A method of manufacturing an armour layer of a flexible pipe for transporting fluid from a subsea location and apparatus are provided. The method comprises winding a first length of composite tape to form a first section of the armour layer and positioning an end region of the first length of composite tape over an end region of a second length of composite tape to form an overlapping tape section. Heat and pressure is applied to the overlapping tape section to form a joined overlapping tape section in which the first length of tape is joined to the second length of tape such that the joined overlapping tape section has a lap shear strength of at least 11 MPa. The joined overlapping tape section and the second length of composite tape are wound to form a second section of the armour layer.
TAPERED HYDRAULIC HOSE, METHODS OF MAKING, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF IN ROBOT SYSTEMS
A robot has a body, a hydraulic control system physically coupled to the body, and a hydraulically-actuated component physically coupled to the body. The hydraulically-actuated component is hydraulically coupled to the hydraulic control system by a hydraulic hose. The hydraulic hose has a length, at least a portion of which extends from a first end to a second end, and a diameter, wherein the diameter of the hydraulic hose at both the first end and the second end is a first diameter, and wherein the at least a portion of the length includes a tapered section in which the diameter of the hydraulic hose decreases, continuously and monotonically, to a second diameter, the second diameter being less than the first diameter. The body includes a restricted region through which the hydraulic hose passes in traversing a path between the hydraulic control system and the hydraulically-actuated component.
Extensible flexible hose, and method for manufacturing thereof
The present invention discloses an extensible flexible hose comprise one elastic inner layer, one elastic textile reinforcement layer and one elastic outer layer, where the elastic textile reinforcement layer placed on the outer surface of the elastic inner layer, the elastic outer layer disposed on the elastic textile reinforcement layer, while the elastic inner layer and the elastic textile reinforcement layer are reciprocally coupled, the elastic outer layer and the uncovered surface area of the elastic inner layer are reciprocally joined to form a unitary tubular member. The elastic textile reinforcement layer comprising a twill weave textile layer, with stretch yarns longitudinally distributed among. The objective of the present invention is to improve the phenomenon that the telescopic water pipe is liable to be damaged due to strong friction between inner core and outer sheath, to prolong the service life of the extensible flexible hose. The hose body adopts elastic materials, which has advantages as great elasticity, easy carrying, easy cleaning, and convenient storage.
MULTILAYER FLEXIBLE TUBE AND PROCESS FOR THE SAME
This invention relates in general to a multilayer tube and methods of making the same. In particular, this invention relates to a multilayer tube used as a riser, such as those that may be connected to shutoff or “stop” valve on one end and a plumbing hook-up to the other end. The multilayer tube comprises a first inner polymer layer and a second outer polymer layer, wherein the first and second polymer layers are not substantially bonded to each other. To facilitate use, the tube may additionally comprise one or more overmolded components, such as pipe connectors, plumbing connections, plumbing fittings, valve connectors and appliance connectors. The layers are not substantially bonded.
TUBE MANUFACTURING METHOD, EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE, MOLD FOR EXTRUSION MOLDING, WINDING DEVICE, AND TUBE
A method for producing a tube, which includes: extruding a melt-fabricable fluororesin from a mold of an extruder into a form of a tube, leading the extruded melt-fabricable fluororesin to a cooling device to cool the extruded melt-fabricable fluororesin, and winding a resulting cooled tube onto a winding reel using a winding device. A gas is fed from a head end of the tube wound onto the winding reel into a hollow of the tube, the gas in the hollow is allowed to pass through a gas-introducing entrance of the mold and then through a gas-discharging hole of the mold to discharge the gas outside, thereby allowing the gas to flow along the hollow, and an internal pressure of the hollow is kept higher than atmospheric pressure and lower than 0.5 kgf/cm.sup.2.
