FOOTWEAR MANUFACTURING PROCESS
20220015494 · 2022-01-20 ·

A method of reclaiming used tennis balls and transforming the material reclaimed from the tennis balls into soles for footwear. This multi-step process requires acquiring used tennis balls, grinding the tennis balls into ground rubber bits (usable elements) and tennis ball “fuzz” (unusable elements). The rubber and fuzz are passed through a screen which allows the rubber bits to exit the screen but retains the fuzz. The rubber is then mixed with an H.sub.2O and Polyurethane mixture to form a rubber mixture. This mixture is then pressed into a shape using a mold, cured, and then used to manufacture footwear.

TENNIS BALL RECYCLING SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
20220288813 · 2022-09-15 ·

A system and method for tennis ball recycling that processes tennis balls into one or more constituent components to generate useful products is disclosed. The system includes a hopper to hold the balls for recycling; a grinder having a plurality of blades to initially cut the tennis balls in a first step to separate the rubber from the nylon; a cyclonic extractor that further separates loose fibers out in a second step; a trommel separator that further filters the broken down components of the tennis balls for use in new products.

Play ball with foam filling

A play ball has a rubber shell filled with resilient foam having an entire outer peripheral surface thereof intimately attached by heat fusion and adhesive to an entire interior surface of the shell. Such attachment enables the foam to provide additional resiliency by foam tension, as well as by foam compression, thereby significantly extending the effective bounce life of the ball. A seamed dog chew toy has essentially similar construction such that the increased retention force provided by the intimate attachment of the foam to the shell resists the chewing force of the dog popping a seam improving durability.
