Method of welding a sleeve to a tube, and device obtained thereby

A method of welding a sleeve (10) to a tube (20) includes putting onto end portions (11) of the sleeve (10) respective protective elements (40), of a material that cannot be fused with the materials of the sleeve (10) and of the outer coating (24) of the tube (20); applying on each end portion (11) of the sleeve (10) covered by a protective element (40) a respective heat-shrink element (30); supplying each heat-shrink element (30) with a quantity of heat (Q) which by heating it causes it to shrink and compress the respective end portion (11) of the sleeve (10) against the tube (20), where this quantity of heat (Q) is transmitted to the end portion (11) of the sleeve (10) to obtain a welding of the sleeve (10) to the tube (20) and produce a device (1) comprising the tube (20) with the sleeve (10).

Thermoplastic composition with low hydrocarbon uptake

Thermoplastic compositions are described that exhibit resistance to hydrocarbon absorption. Methods for forming the thermoplastic compositions are also described. Formation methods include combining a polyarylene sulfide with a first impact modifier and a second impact modifier such that the impact modifiers are dispersed throughout the polyarylene sulfide. A crosslinking agent can be combined with the other components of the composition following dispersal of the additives throughout the composition to dynamically crosslink at least one of the first and second impact modifiers.

A composite drill pipe including an inner pipe having a first diameter, an outer pipe having a second diameter greater than the first diameter, and a plurality of flow channels formed between the inner pipe and the outer pipe. The plurality of flow channels are formed by a plurality of walls extending radially between an outer diameter of the inner pipe and an inner diameter of the outer pipe. A method of forming a composite drill pipe includes pultruding a drill pipe comprising an inner pipe having a first diameter, an outer pipe having a second diameter greater than the first diameter, and a plurality of flow channels formed between the inner pipe and the outer pipe. The method also includes providing a multi-directional reinforcement over an outer diameter of the outer pipe.

DOUBLE-WALLED CONTAINER
20220330756 · 2022-10-20 ·

A method and apparatus for the formation of double-walled containers with the structure of two integrally connected and adjacent containers extending in the same direction with an air gap between them, stretch-blow moulded as single bodies out of thermoplastic material, and suitable for mass-production. A thermoplastic tubular blank is formed and then heat-conditioned. The heat-conditioned tubular blank is then mechanically stretched longitudinally and blow-formed outwards by gas pressure to conformingly and stretchingly assume the tubular blank to the shape of a first dual-container shaped mould cavity set in order to form a stretch-blow moulded first container integrally connected to a second container, with both containers extending in opposite directions. Next, additional heat-conditioning is applied to further heat-condition as necessary the stretch-blow moulded second container and if deemed an advantage, at least part of the first container. Then at least one profiled inversion piston and a second dual-container shaped mould cavity set are provided along with one or more wall stability devices applied to at least part of the wall surface(s) of either or both of the two integrally connected stretch-blow moulded containers, such that the second container side wall(s) may be inverted at least partially inside-out, while at the same time the second container bottom wall at least substantially does not invert, in order for the second container to become a substantially mirror-image inverted second container extending in the same direction as the first container, and an air gap is formed between the first container and second container.

Reinforcing system for reinforcing a cavity of a structural element

In a reinforcing system for reinforcing a cavity of a structural element, a support element is connected to the structural element in the structural element for reinforcement purposes. The support element has channels, an adhesive is disposed in the cavity between the support element and the structural element, and the adhesive can be introduced into the cavity between the support element and the structural element by means of the channels.

Method to make tube-in-tube balloon

A tube-in-tube assembled parison for preparation of an elongated medical device. The parison if formed by assembling in tube-in-tube fashion a first tube of orientable polymer material and a second tube formed of orientable polymer material disposed around the first tube, with an adhesive tie layer disposed between the first and second tubes. The tubes are brought into contact to form a unitary parison. The adhesive may allow movement between the polymer layers during balloon blowing. The first tube, or the second tube, or both, may have been longitudinally pre-stretched after formation thereof but before assembly of the parison.
