MOLD, BLOW MOLDING DEVICE, AND INJECTION MOLDING DEVICE
A mold includes a first mold for receiving a neck mold that holds a neck part of a resin preform having a bottom, and for enclosing the preform inside, and a second mold inserted into the neck mold. At least one of a first sliding surface between the neck mold and the first mold and a second sliding surface between the neck mold and the second mold includes a solid lubricant embedded therein.
Lightweight polymeric container finish
A polymeric container including a base, a body, a finish, finish threads, and a tamper lip. The finish threads are at an outer surface of the finish, and are configured to cooperate with closure threads of a closure to secure the closure to the finish. The tamper lip extends from the outer surface of the finish, and is configured to replace the support flange during handling, and to cooperate with a tamper band of the closure. A recess is below the tamper lip. The recess retains the tamper band below the tamper lip when the closure is removed from cooperation with the finish. A gripper ring is between the finish threads and the tamper lip. The gripper ring is configured to cooperate with a gripper for grasping the finish.
METHOD OF PRODUCING INJECTION MOLDED ARTICLES
Injection molded articles and methods of making injection molded articles. The methods include the use of a first plasticizing unit and a second plasticizing unit on a common frame feeding a first mold and a second mold on the common frame. Separating the production of each part of a two-part article into separate plasticizers and molds allows for the tuning of production parameters on a per-part basis, improving part flatness and part-to-part weight variance.
FILMS AND SHEETS HAVING MICROLAYERS AND NANOLAYERS INCLUDING RECYCLED CONTENT
A polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating is formed as a multilayered structure having at least one A layer and at least one B layer. The polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating is able to include at least 30% recycled content resin while also exhibiting improved stiffness and strength relative to films with purely virgin polymers. One embodiment of the present invention further presents improved oxygen barrier properties relative to existing films, sheets, or extrusion coatings. Due to the strong structural properties, the polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating allows for the inclusion of recycled content into applications where recycled content has previously not been able to be included, such as flexible food, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics packaging.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A CONTAINER PREFORM USING ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
The method for manufacturing a preform intended for creating a container comprises: - a step 34 of transferring a digital model of the preform that is to be manufactured to an additive manufacturing machine, - a step 36 of producing the preform using the additive manufacturing machine from the transferred digital model, and - a step 38 of cooling the manufactured preform at ambient temperature.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THIN-WALLED MOLDED ARTICLE, AND WELL PLATE
The present invention has: a step for heating a resin or a metal in a state in which the resin or metal is sandwiched by a mold provided with a projection that is constituted from an elastic body having a heat resistance temperature higher than the temperature at which the resin or the metal softens, and a support body which is larder than the mold and which is softened by heat at a higher temperature than the resin or the metal, while a force is applied to the mold in the direction toward the resin or the metal.
Multilayer films
There is provided a multilayer film comprising a starch layer and at least one other layer. The multilayer film has excellent barrier properties. The starch layer comprises a modified starch having a degree of substitution less than 1.5. Suitable other layers include polyolefins. The multilayer film finds use in packaging, particularly in packaging foodstuffs.
APPARATUS FOR FASTENING GAS VESSEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME
An apparatus for fastening a pair of gas vessels includes: a plurality of first units formed of a composite material, spaced apart from each other in parallel with each other in a length direction of the gas vessel, and having the pair of gas vessels seated on both sides thereof; a second unit formed of a composite material and extending in the length direction of the gas vessels to integrally connect the plurality of first units; and a plurality of fastening units each of which extending along a circumference of the gas vessels to enclose the gas vessels seated on the first units and having both ends connected to the first units.
APPARATUS FOR SEALING AN OPEN END OF A CONTAINER
An apparatus for sealing an open end of a package comprises a first longitudinally extending sealing jaw, bearing mounted on a first eccentric shaft rotatable around a first rotational axis, and a second longitudinally extending sealing jaw, bearing mounted on a second eccentric shaft rotatable around a second rotational axis, the second sealing jaw being parallel with the first sealing jaw. At least one motor drives rotation around the first and second rotational axis in opposite directions, wherein the first and the second sealing jaws oppose each other, and are allowed to oscillate between sealing and open positions by moving towards and away from each other. A first and second transversally extending guiding bar cooperate with the first and second eccentric shaft via guiding pins running in guiding grooves, such that transverse play between the first and the second eccentric shaft and the first and second sealing jaw is allowed.
Polymeric Material for Container
A formulation for producing a polymeric material including polypropylene, a chemical blowing agent, and optional components as described.
