Provided is a blow-molding method capable of suppressing generation of blister-like bubbles and producing a high quality hollow molded article when forming a thick hollow molded article by blow-molding. A blow-molding method includes setting a die-slit interval in a die head according to a target wall thickness of a hollow molded article to be molded, extruding a molten resin in an accumulator into a cylindrical shape from the die slit to form a parison, and molding the parison in a mold. The die-slit interval is made smaller than a value set according to the target wall thickness at start of extrusion, and then is increased to match the value set according to the target wall thickness. The value set according to the target wall thickness is preferably corrected considering wall thickness reduction due to drawdown. The wall thickness of the hollow molded article is preferably 3.5 mm or more.

Inlet pipe and molding method of inlet pipe

Provided are an inlet pipe including a curved portion having a curved shape, and a molding method thereof. In the molding method of the inlet pipe, that one part of the inlet pipe which includes a curved portion having a large curvature is molded by injection molding, and the other part of the inlet pipe except the one part molded by the injection molding is molded by blow molding.

Bonded body

A bonded body is formed of a first member and a second member. The first member has a first base portion and a first welded portion which protrudes from the first base portion toward the second member side. The second member has a second base portion and a second welded portion which protrudes from the second base portion toward the first member side. In a first region of the joint portion, a first rib formed so as to project from the first base portion toward the second member side covers the first welded portion and the second welded portion from the side. In a second region different from the first region, a second rib formed so as to project from the second base portion toward the first member side covers the first welded portion and the second welded portion from the side.

Feedback system and method for automatically adjusting and controlling infrared heating of parts

Systems and methods of controlling outputs of infrared heaters used to join a first part to a second part, and a component made thereby. Upper and lower nests hold the first and second parts, respectively. A movable heating platen has infrared heaters on opposite surfaces. Imaging sensors have fields of view encompassing heated portions of the first and second parts, respectively, when the platen is retracted away from an area between the upper and lower nests. A controller causes the upper and lower nests to move while causing the platen to extend into and retract away from the area between the upper and lower nests. The first imaging sensor takes a first image of the heated portions of the first part, which causes an adjustment to be made to an output of the infrared heaters in a subsequent welding cycle.

System and method for direct infrared (IR) laser welding

A method of welding at least two plastic components together is disclosed. The two plastic components are welded together at respective joining surfaces. The method comprises directing at least one infrared (IR) laser beam along the joining surfaces of the at least two plastic components. The IR laser beam heats the joining surfaces of the at least two plastic components to a welding temperature. The method also includes clamping the at least two plastic components together at the joining surfaces to create a weld.

Silencer for the reduction of gas noise in an intake system of a combustion engine and a method for the production of such a silencer
11125194 · 2021-09-21 · ·

A silencer for reducing gas noise in a combustion engine intake system has a tubular casing with a first casing part and a second casing part connected to each other by a weld seam to form an outer casing wall, wherein the weld seam is a part of the outer casing wall. A third part for compensating gas noise is positioned inside the tubular casing. The third part is arranged in the tubular casing such that an annular cavity is formed by the third part and the outer casing wall. A weld flash protrudes from an inner surface of the outer casing wall into the annular cavity and is contained therein. The silencer is produced in a single welding process in which the first and second casing parts are connected to each other to form the outer casing wall and the third part is connected to the tubular casing.
