PREFORMED BAG MADE OF FLEXIBLE PLASTIC MATERIAL AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A PREFORMED BAG FROM A FILM MADE OF FLEXIBLE MATERIAL WITH A RIGID FRAME
The invention relates to a preformed bag (1) which is manufactured continuously from a film of flexible plastic material, in particular PET/PE, with a thickness of less than 200 microns, in order to form a front wall (1a) and a rear wall (1b) assembled at the lateral sides thereof, optionally in combination with gussets (1c) and (1d), a bottom (1e) and a filling opening (1f). A portion of the bag (1) has arrangements for fastening a rigid frame (2), capable of defining an opening communicating with the inside of the bag, said frame being provided with a sealing means (2a).
Method and system for forming packages
A method of forming reinforced packages. The method can comprise moving a blank in a machine direction on a blank conveyor, and forming a tubular web while moving a first web of material and a second web of material in the machine direction. The forming the tubular web can comprise at least partially sealing at least a portion of the first web and the second web together to form a sealed margin of the tubular web. The method further can comprise forming a liner by cutting the tubular web, forming an attached blank by attaching the liner to the blank, and moving the attached blank in the machine direction on the blank conveyor.
Method and system for forming packages
A method of sealing reinforced packages. The method can comprise moving an open-ended package in a downstream direction on a package conveyor by engaging the open-ended package with a chain flight of the package conveyor moving in the downstream direction. The method further can comprise forming a bag with a closed end by engaging at least a seal portion of a tail section of an open-ended tube portion of the open-ended package between the chain flight of the package conveyor and a hot plate positioned adjacent the package conveyor. The chain flight can move with the tail section in the downstream direction relative to the hot plate, which can transfer thermal energy to the tail section to at least partially form a seal along the seal portion in the tail section to at least partially form the closed end of the bag.
BAGS AND METHODS OF MAKING BAGS
An exemplary web of preformed bags includes first and second layers, first and second side edges that hermetically join the first and second layers, a plurality of transverse seals extending between the first and second side edges, a plurality of first lines of weakness in the first layer, and a plurality of second lines of weakness in the second layer. The first lines of weakness are weaker than the second lines of weakness. The preformed bags are defined by the first and second side edges, the first and second lines of weakness, and the transverse seals.
Method and system for manufacturing bags
A system and method of manufacturing reinforced bags having reinforcing elements applied about the bags to support the bags in an opened and/or upstanding configuration. A web of bag material can be fed from a supply and can be folded and secured to form the bags. A series of reinforcing strips can be fed through an adhesive application station for application of an adhesive material thereto in a desired pattern. The reinforcing strips and bags are brought into registration and are adhesively attached to form the reinforced bags.
Method for producing a side-gusseted bag and flat, unfilled side-gusseted bag
A longitudinal method for producing a side-gusseted bag includes providing an incision extending in a transverse direction in a bag film for each side-gusseted bag in such a way that, in the case of a subsequently formed side-gusseted tube, the incision extends over both side gussets and a first front wall that is situated between the side gussets. Proceeding from the incision, the first front wall, together with the corresponding parts of the side gussets, is folded back, on which a separate film section is placed and fastened in the folded-open region. The folded-over section is folded back in such a way that all connecting seams of the separate film section extend in parallel to each other in the transverse direction.
BAG MAKING APPARATUS, BAG MAKING METHOD AND BAG
A bag making apparatus and a bag making method make bags. The bag has a first panel part and a first flap part formed by folding a first sheet part, and a second panel part and a second flap part formed by folding a second sheet part. The first and second panel parts face each other. The first and second flap parts are interposed between the first and second panel parts and face each other. An open edge is formed by folded edges of the first and second sheet parts. The bag further comprises adhesive located between the open edge and the engagement tool, interposed between the first and second flap parts and extending across the widths of the first and second sheet parts to peelably adhere the first and second flap parts to each other. Alternatively, the second sheet part may only consists of the second panel part.
METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS PRODUCTION OF MULTIPLE POUCHES WITH TRANSVERSE DIRECTION RECLOSURE
The present disclosure relates to the simultaneous manufacture of reclosable packages or pouches by application of a closure or reclosure onto a package web or film in the transverse direction. The web or film is folded along a machine-direction centerline so that one half of the web or film overlies, or is coextensively aligned with, the other half of the web or film. Heat seals and slits are formed in the machine direction, thereby forming the side seals of the plurality of reclosable packages or pouches.
BOTTOM FOLD BAG AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
Bags for containing various retail items, such as food items, and methods of forming the same. In some aspects, a bag having a top and bottom is provided. The bags can include a first layer and a second layer opposite the first layer and uniformly extending from the first layer. In some aspects, the bag can further include a first side seam between a side of the first layer and an opposing side of the second layer and a second side seam between a side of the second layer and an opposing side of the second layer. The first layer and the second layer each have an un-folded edge substantially parallel to the bottom fold. In some aspects, the bags include a bottom V-shaped fold extending along a transverse axis relative to the first side seam and the second side seam, the bottom V-shaped fold forming a seamless bottom.
Tri-fold side seamed plastic produce bag and method for making same
A trifold side seamed film produce bag includes a front wall and a back wall, first and second side edges sealed together and a seamless bag bottom. The bag is joined at the side edges to additional bags by a perforation. The bag is corona treated on at least one wall and promotional material is printed on the treated surface. The bags are folded to one third of their height to fit compact bag roll dispensers. The bags are folded in a Z-fold or C-fold configuration. The method includes manufacturing the bags and winding them onto cores or forming the bags into coreless rolls. An apparatus for forming the side seamed bags includes an extruder, a tubing flattener, a perforator, a sealer, a corona treater, a printer and a slitter. The treated, printed bags may be stored on rolls for later slitting into two bag streams and folding into thirds.
