Method and apparatus for making draw strip bags
Continuous method for making a web of draw strip bags, comprising providing a film web (F) wherein a first portion (11) and a second portion (12) overlap each other with free longitudinal side edges (7, 7′) thereof being essentially aligned with each other, back folding a first part (13) having said free side edge (7) of the first portion (11) outwardly away from said second portion (12) along a first fold line (B) by a first hemmer (120), and by folding a first subpart (15) of said first part (13) along a second fold line (C) whereby the free side edge (7) of the first portion (11) is brought into near alignment with said first fold line (B) while a second subpart (14) of said first part (13) of the first portion (11) remains back folded, whereby said first and second subparts (14, 15) of the first portion define a first hem (H1).
Self opening wide mouth carryout bag pack, apparatus and method of making same
An apparatus for making a self-opening wide mouth bag pack includes a supply of flexible film material. An extruder forms a continuous tube. A flattener flattens the tube. A first sealer forms a bottom seal across a width of the flattened tube. A cutter cuts the flattened tube into bag blanks has a bag mouth at a predetermined distance from the bottom seal. Second and third sealers form angled seals at lower corners of the bag blank forming a flat bottomed bag. An adhesion knife penetrates the bag pack adhering adjacent bag blanks together in the bag pack. An aperture maker forms apertures for suspending the bag pack from a dispensing rack. The pack is attached to the dispensing rack and the front wall of the subsequent bag is adhered to the rear wall of a first bag, thereby causing the first bag to open when pulled from the rack.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING PLASTIC BAGS
A gusset preheating assembly and a method of using the same. The assembly includes a heating gun assembly mounted on a frame. Spreader rods open up a gap in a bag's gusset and nozzles blow warmed air into the gap. Orthogonally arranged first and second hydraulic members are operatively engaged with heating gun assembly and are activated to move the heating gun assembly vertically or horizontally. Hot air blowing into the gap from the nozzle relaxes the gusset. Pressure is applied to the relaxed gusset, thereby reducing the thickness of the gusset region of the bag. The reduction in thickness makes it possible to increase the number of gusseted bags that are packaged in a container or on a roll.
TUBULAR BAG MACHINE FOR PRODUCING PAPER BAGS
The present invention relates to a tubular bag machine for producing tubular bag packaging materials from paper, comprising a draw-off station (2) for drawing off a paper web (10), a roughening station (3) for the continuous roughening of at least one joining region of the paper web (10), a moistening station (4) for moistening at least one joining region of the paper web (10), a forming station (5) for forming a bag tube, and an ultrasonic sealing station (6) for sealing the joining region of the paper web (10).
Stack of flexible bags, method and machine for producing said stack
Bags are made, with which a stack is formed. To do this, a tube is formed with a strip of flexible material, a portion of tube is separated at the front of the tube forming a first flap at the rear of the portion of tube, the first flap prolonging the first wall of the portion beyond the end of the second wall adjacent to the first wall, a bag is formed with each portion of tube, and a stack of bags is formed, the first wall of the first of the bags being against the second wall of the adjacent second bag. An anti-adhesive coating is applied on to the first wall of the first bag and a coat of adhesive is applied on to the second wall of the second bag ensuring the temporary attachment with the anti-adhesive coating.
THERMOPLASTIC BAGS WITH PHASED DEFORMATION PATTERNS
Thermoplastic bags with phased deformation patterns are described. In particular, one or more implementations comprise thermoplastic bags with ring rolling, SELFing, or other deformation patterns phased or aligned relative to the sides of the bags. The phased deformation patterns can allow for reducing or eliminating deformation patterns in areas of the thermoplastic bag in which side seals or other seals are formed. Additionally or alternatively, the phased deformation patterns can provide for zones that provide differing properties (e.g., functional or aesthetic). Such zones can vary aligned along a width of the thermoplastic bag and optionally also vary along a height of the thermoplastic bag. The differing zones can provide the thermoplastic bags with phased deformations that provide leak prevention, liquid containment, and other benefits.
Process for making pouches having strong transverse shrinkage
A process for making a shrink pouch having strong shrink tension in the pouch transverse direction and minimal or no shrink tension in the pouch longitudinal direction is provided. The process includes the steps of reinflating and cold-stretch orienting a previously collapsed blown film and feeding the cold-stretch oriented blown film in a flattened configuration into a side-fed pouch making machine, whereupon the longitudinal direction of the blown film becomes the transverse direction of the pouches thus formed, and vice versa. A shrink pouch having strong transverse shrink tension and little or no longitudinal shrink tension is also provided.
SUSTAINABLE FILM POUCH MACHINE
A pouch machine vertical sealer capable of fusing a pouch film web to form a plurality of spaced vertical seals along a length of the film web to form pouches. The pouch machine vertical sealer includes a sealer wheel rotatable about a vertical axis of rotation and defines a film web path about a periphery of the sealer wheel. The vertical sealer further includes a plurality of vertical sealer land assemblies spaced apart about the periphery of the sealer wheel. Each vertical sealer land assembly includes an impulse heater such that contact between the film web and each impulse heater of the plurality of vertical sealer land assemblies forms the spaced apart vertical seals along the length of the film web.
THERMOPLASTIC FILMS AND BAGS WITH ENCAPSULATION-BASED DELAYED ODOR CONTROL AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic film that includes a plurality of ribs and a plurality of web areas that separate and connect the ribs. The thermoplastic film further includes an encapsulated odor control component that includes an odor control active encapsulated within a plurality of encapsulants. The encapsulants can be configured to delay a release of the odor-control active until activated. Further, the encapsulated odor control component can be applied across the plurality of ribs and the plurality of web areas, which can be configured to cause the encapsulants to activate in phases.
THERMOPLASTIC BAGS WITH DUPLICATIVE SEALS
A thermoplastic bag includes duplicative seals. In particular, in one or more implementations, a thermoplastic bag includes a first seal and at least a second seal reinforcing the same area of the thermoplastic bag. For instance, in one or more implementations, the thermoplastic bag includes multiple seals along each side edge or along the hem. If one seal fails, the other seal(s) can remain in place to prevent leaks. Thus, the duplicative seals of the thermoplastic bag can provide reinforced strength and desired aesthetics.
