Method and device for packaging articles
A device for automated packaging of articles, comprising a conveyor for feeding and transporting into the device a blank of corrugated cardboard, a pair of crease wheels for creating two longitudinal crease lines in the blank, a transversal blade or score applicator for successively creating four transversal crease lines in the blank as the blank is transported into the device, and opposite pressing members such as jaws of a press and/or pressing rollers, arranged symmetrically with respect to a center line of the device, whose lateral position is adjustable for their ends or tips to match the two longitudinal crease lines, and activated in a timely manner as the blank is transported into the device to crush the corrugated cardboard in the top, middle and bottom corners of the blank in order to make it easily foldable.
Method of using blank with tear-off section and supportive platform
The method includes first folding a plurality of sidewall panels to form sidewalls for an assembled package, a tear-off section being defined by at least a portion a lower end of at least some of the sidewalls, second folding one or more platform panels to form a supportive platform near the lower end of the sidewalls, and third folding at least one foot panel under the supportive platform to at least partially support the supportive platform of the assembled package.
BOX FORMING CAROUSEL APPARATUS, AND, PACKAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A box forming carousel apparatus including a frame, a rotating carton retainer, a first side carton folding assembly, a second side carton folding assembly and an axle. The frame has a bottom, and first and second sides. The rotating carton retainer is rotatably coupled to the frame and has a plurality of slot assemblies radially spaced apart, each slot assembly having a leading wall, a following wall and a base wall. Each slot assembly structurally configured to retain a box therein. The first side carton folding assembly is structurally configured to fold a plurality of flaps of the box on a first side thereof. The second side carton folding assembly is structurally configured to fold a plurality of flaps of the box on a second side thereof. The axle extends between the first side and the second side of the frame spaced apart from the bottom of the frame.
Packaging apparatus and method
A method and apparatus are shown for securing a top for a cardboard carton where the carton has a bottom wall and integral sidewalls, an initially open interior and initially open top flaps with outwardly extending ears. The top flaps are folded to a carton closing position which closes off the initially open interior of the cardboard carton. The ears are also folded to a position in contact with the sidewalls of the carton. A set of punches are aligned with the folded ears of the carton and are actuated to force a first layer of cardboard from a respective top flap through an underlying region of the carton sidewall. A set of platens are located so as to underlie and reinforce the sidewalls of the carton as the punching operation takes place.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FORMING A CONTAINER BY FOLDING
The present invention relates to the forming of a container by folding a cardboard sheet with at least vertical flaps, using a forming device and a forming method. Such a device comprises an upstream conveyor driving said cardboard sheet in a direction of travel, a downstream conveyor, means for folding the vertical flaps, said folding means being situated symmetrically about said upstream conveyor, and is characterized in that, on each side, said folding means comprise a pair of downstream and upstream pushers forming a gripper, said pushers being actuated jointly from an open position toward a closed position of folding said corresponding vertical flaps, a support for each gripper, said support being mobile in said direction of travel.
Multiple-mode case erector
A case erector may operate in multiple modes. In a slotted-case mode, the case erector may accept and erect slotted cases, while various plunger-case erection components are deactivated. In a plunger-case mode, the case erector may accept and erect plunger cases, while various slotted-case erection components are deactivated.
MULTIPLE-MODE CASE ERECTOR

In a plunger-case mode, the case erector may accept and erect plunger cases, while various slotted-case erection components are deactivated.
Package with tear-off section and foot panel supporting platform panel
The package includes sidewall panels, at least one first platform panel configured to support at least one first consumer product within the package, at least one foot panel that is at least partially positioned under the at least one first platform panel to support at least one portion of the at least one first platform panel, and a tear-off section defined by at least a lower end of the package.
Method and apparatus for erecting cartons and for order fulfilment and packing
A system and method of packing an order. A first sequence of bins corresponding to orders is transported on a first conveyor to a packing station. A case for each order is constructed by a case forming system, the case forming system able to construct cases from blanks of various sizes. The cases are transported from the case construction apparatus to the packing station in a second sequence, wherein the sequential order of the cases corresponds to the bins in the first sequence. The bin in the first sequence are brought to the packing station with the cases in the second sequence.
