METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING PRESSWARE
A system for forming a pressware product comprises rollers, a scoring tool, a scoring station actuator, a forming tool, and a forming station actuator. The rollers pull the web along a path having an angle. The scoring tool receives the material from the rollers and includes a vertically shiftable scoring punch with an edge that extends about an outline of the pressware product and a striker plate. The scoring station actuator shifts the scoring tool to form a slot in the web. The forming tool receives the scored web and includes a vertically shiftable positive mold assembly and negative mold assembly. The forming station actuator shifts the positive mold assembly to press against the web and form the pressware product.
Method and device for packaging articles
A device for automated packaging of articles, comprising a conveyor for feeding and transporting into the device a blank of corrugated cardboard, a pair of crease wheels for creating two longitudinal crease lines in the blank, a transversal blade or score applicator for successively creating four transversal crease lines in the blank as the blank is transported into the device, and opposite pressing members such as jaws of a press and/or pressing rollers, arranged symmetrically with respect to a center line of the device, whose lateral position is adjustable for their ends or tips to match the two longitudinal crease lines, and activated in a timely manner as the blank is transported into the device to crush the corrugated cardboard in the top, middle and bottom corners of the blank in order to make it easily foldable.
APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING A CONTAINER
This invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing a container, the container being made of paperboard and being formed from at least two elements adhered together. An apparatus for use in manufacturing a container comprises a first inlet connected to a supply of dry steam; a second inlet connected to a supply of hot air; a mixing chamber, the first inlet and the second inlet being fluidly connected to the mixing chamber such that a flow of dry steam from the first inlet mixes with a flow of hot air from the second inlet; and a delivery nozzle fluidly connected to the mixing at least one of said elements.
APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING A CONTAINER
This invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing a bottle, the bottle comprising an inner pouch and an outer paperboard shell, the shell being made from a sheet blank comprising a main body panel, a first neck panel and a second neck panel. An apparatus for use in manufacturing a bottle comprises a former having a cavity for receiving said pouch, the former comprising a main body section, a neck section and a shoulder section extending between the main body section and the neck section; at least two neck press elements, each neck press element including a press surface facing and aligned with at least a part of the neck section of the former, and each neck press element being moveable into a clamping position to clamp a part of one of said neck panels between the neck press element and the neck section of the former; and at least two shoulder press elements, each shoulder press element including a press surface facing and aligned with the shoulder section of the former, and each shoulder press element being moveable into a
Methods and machine for forming a two-piece blank assembly
A machine for forming a joined blank assembly from first and second blanks of sheet material includes a deck coupled to a frame, and a first transfer assembly associated with the frame. The first transfer assembly is configured to position the first blank on the deck. The machine also includes a second transfer assembly associated with the frame. The second transfer assembly is configured to position the second blank in at least a partially overlying relationship to the first blank on the deck. The machine further includes at least one compression member configured to compress the second blank and the first blank together against the deck to form the joined blank assembly.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING PRESSWARE
A system for forming a pressware product from a web of a roll of material comprises a positive mold, a negative mold, a heating element, an actuator, a force sensor, and a control system. The positive mold forms a top surface of the pressware product. The negative mold forms a bottom surface of the pressware product. The heating element is coupled to the positive mold or the negative mold. The actuator shifts the positive mold or the negative mold to cut and form the pressware product in a single stroke. The force sensor detects the forming force applied by the actuator, and the control system directs the actuator to adjust the forming force.
Method and apparatus for deep-drawing a tray from sheet material
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for deep-drawing a tray (1) from fiber-based sheet material (2), such as polymer coated board. The apparatus comprises a female moulding tool (3), which comprises a cavity (7) for forming the tray bottom outwardly, a male moulding tool (4), which comprises a plunger plate (11) for forming the tray bottom inwardly, the plunger plate being movable with respect to the cavity for forming the tray, and clamps (6, 15) with an interface for holding the sheet material and forming a tray rim flange. According to the invention by laterally distancing at least one of the moulding tools (3, 4) from the sheet material leeway is provided for free forming of the tray side walls while wrinkling or tearing of the same is avoided. Spacer plates (13) may be positioned behind the plunger plate (11), to adjust its position in relation to the cavity (7) of the female moulding tool (3). The cavity may have a separate bottom plate (8) and spacer plates (9) there below, or screw means may be provided for adjusting the distance of the bottom of the cavity from the clamp interface and thereby varying the depth of the tray.
Paper lid production method
A method for producing a paper lid includes a first step of holding down an outer edge area of a blank that is mainly made of paper, a second step of forming an inner fitting portion in a central area of the blank, while holding down the outer edge area, and a third step of forming an outer fitting portion in the central area, where the inner fitting portion is formed, while holding down the outer edge area.
Machine for erecting linerless cartons
A method of erecting a carton from a blank, including: engaging the blank with a punch head against which the carton is formed, folding side portions of the blank against the punch head to form sides of the carton; folding outer portions of the side portions of the blank away from the punch head and against an external side of the carton; folding end portions of the blank against the punch head to form end portions of the carton; folding outer portions of the end portions of the blank away from the punch head and against an external end of the carton; and securing corner gussets formed between the side and end portions against sides or ends of the carton.
