Method and apparatus for making draw strip bags
Continuous method for making a web of draw strip bags, comprising providing a film web (F) wherein a first portion (11) and a second portion (12) overlap each other with free longitudinal side edges (7, 7′) thereof being essentially aligned with each other, back folding a first part (13) having said free side edge (7) of the first portion (11) outwardly away from said second portion (12) along a first fold line (B) by a first hemmer (120), and by folding a first subpart (15) of said first part (13) along a second fold line (C) whereby the free side edge (7) of the first portion (11) is brought into near alignment with said first fold line (B) while a second subpart (14) of said first part (13) of the first portion (11) remains back folded, whereby said first and second subparts (14, 15) of the first portion define a first hem (H1).
MATERIALS MANAGEMENT BAG AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRACKING
A computer-managed database of interconnected, unique codes attached on trash, recycling and other material management or recovery bags enables program managers to track and measure the materials management behavior including but not limited to weight, composition, compliance, and fraud; and to provide feedback including education, penalties or incentives directly to affected persons in order to cost effectively meet federal, state, local or corporate goals,
THERMOPLASTIC BAGS WITH PHASED DEFORMATION PATTERNS
Thermoplastic bags with phased deformation patterns are described. In particular, one or more implementations comprise thermoplastic bags with ring rolling, SELFing, or other deformation patterns phased or aligned relative to the sides of the bags. The phased deformation patterns can allow for reducing or eliminating deformation patterns in areas of the thermoplastic bag in which side seals or other seals are formed. Additionally or alternatively, the phased deformation patterns can provide for zones that provide differing properties (e.g., functional or aesthetic). Such zones can vary aligned along a width of the thermoplastic bag and optionally also vary along a height of the thermoplastic bag. The differing zones can provide the thermoplastic bags with phased deformations that provide leak prevention, liquid containment, and other benefits.
REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC BAG WITH EXTENDED HEM SKIRT
The present disclosure relates to strata 2-ply drawstring trash bags implementing a J-flap extended hem to provide increased top-of-bag strength. In one or more embodiments, the J-flap extended hem includes a 2-ply web folded back on itself (e.g., during a hem folding operation to enclose the drawstring within a hem channel). In one or more implementations, a hem seal secures the 2-ply web to an inside surface of the trash bag. At least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over extends past the hem seal and is additionally secured to the inside surface of the trash bag via one or more hem skirt seals. For reduced material consumption in certain embodiments, the J-flap extended hem of the present disclosure imparts added strength using only one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over. In some embodiments, at least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over includes ring-rolled portions to add top-of-bag strength.
THERMOPLASTIC BAGS WITH DUPLICATIVE SEALS
A thermoplastic bag includes duplicative seals. In particular, in one or more implementations, a thermoplastic bag includes a first seal and at least a second seal reinforcing the same area of the thermoplastic bag. For instance, in one or more implementations, the thermoplastic bag includes multiple seals along each side edge or along the hem. If one seal fails, the other seal(s) can remain in place to prevent leaks. Thus, the duplicative seals of the thermoplastic bag can provide reinforced strength and desired aesthetics.
BAG MAKING MACHINES AND METHODS THEREOF
A machine for processing a web of material into bags includes several sections for processing the web of material into bags. An input section is configured to receive a roll of the web of material, a sealing section is configured to form seals in the web of material, and a winder section configured to wind the bags into rolls of bags may be included. A bander section configured to band each roll of bags may be included. A hem forming section configured to form a hem in the web of material may be included. A draw tape unwind station for unwinding draw tape for bags may be included. Related methods are further disclosed.
Bags with marks and systems of making same
A system for manufacturing bags with counting marks includes a workstation for making bags, and a coding machine for spraying counting marks on the bags. The coding machine includes a main body, a fixing structure and a spraying gun. The main body has ink cartridges for providing ink and a pressure mechanism to spray the ink through the spraying gun. The spraying gun is fixed to a fixing structure and connected to the main body via a cable such that the ink of the ink cartridges is operably moved from the ink cartridge to the spraying gun via the cable. The cable includes channels, each channel adapted for delivering a respective color of the ink. The spraying gun includes nozzles coupled to the channels for spraying the ink on the bags so as to form the counting marks thereon.
