PAPER-BASED ELONGATE STRUCTURES SUITABLE FOR USE AS LUMBER SUBSTITUTES
20170335559 · 2017-11-23 ·

Paper-based elongate structures suitable for use as lumber substitutes, articles of manufacture made thereof, kits of materials including such structures, and machines and methods for making the same. Elongate structures according to the invention include a hollow outer portion formed of corrugated fiberboard sheet material and an accordion-folded inner support formed of corrugated fiberboard sheet material. The hollow outer portion has four outer surfaces that define a rectangle when viewed in cross-section transverse to a longitudinal axis of the elongate structure. The accordion-folded inner support is enclosed within the hollow outer portion. The inner support includes a plurality of first spaced-apart peaks that contact a first inner surface of the hollow outer portion and a plurality of second spaced-apart peaks that contact an opposing second inner surface of the hollow outer portion. The accordion-folded inner support structure improves the beam strength, crush resistance and lateral strength of the elongate structure.

Manufacturing method of flexible display panel, flexible display panel and display device

A manufacturing method of a flexible display panel includes providing a display substrate which includes a substrate bending region, attaching a back film onto a back surface of the display substrate. A region of the back film corresponding to the substrate bending region is a back film bending region. The manufacturing method includes removing at least the back film bending region to form a perforated region, and bending the display substrate toward the back surface thereof along the substrate bending region to form a flexible display panel.

Creasing devices

A creasing device is provided that includes a counter-rotating male drum and female drum. The male drum carries a conventional creasing ring with a central rib flanked by shoulders. The female drum comprises a central channel aligned with the creasing rib on the male drum; and a pair of projecting lateral ribs on each side of the central channel that are aligned with the shoulders on the male drum. The lateral ribs press a sheet of the card or paper stock against the shoulders of the creasing ring to better define the edges of the crease and to reduce the tendency of a printed coating on the stock to crack during subsequent folding. The pair of lateral ribs may be provided by a pair of inserts. Alternatively, both ribs and the central channel may be provided by a single insert.

Method and Apparatus for Advancing an Absorbent Article

A converting apparatus operates to transfer a folded absorbent article from a first carrier apparatus to a second carrier apparatus. The converting apparatus includes a transfer apparatus and a guide member located adjacent to the transfer apparatus, forming a gap there between. The transfer apparatus includes a frame that is rotatable about a first axis of rotation and a transfer member that is rotatable about a second axis of rotation. The transfer member defines a receiving surface and the guide member defines a guide surface. The guide surface converges toward the receiving surface. The frame advances the absorbent article in a machine direction through the gap. While advancing absorbent article advances through the gap, the transfer member rotates the absorbent article about the second axis of rotation. The guide member includes side seam tuckers that are adapted to tuck the side seams of the absorbent article.

CAP MADE OF PAPER

A cap and a corresponding method of manufacturing the cap for closing a container are described. The cap comprises a spirally wound sleeve comprising a first opening an a second opening, wherein the first opening and the second opening are opposed. Further, the cap comprises a head disk, wherein the head disk is arranged to close the first opening of the sleeve. The sleeve is made of paper. The second opening of the sleeve has a reinforcing element, and the reinforcing element is a structure extending into the interior of the sleeve.

Fold-enforcing assembly, post-processing apparatus, and image forming system

A fold-enforcing assembly includes a fold-enforcing device, a moving device to move the fold-enforcing device in a direction of a fold of a sheet bundle, and control circuitry. The fold-enforcing device includes a pressing member pair to nip and press the fold of the sheet bundle in a direction of thickness, a pressing mechanism to pressurize and depressurize the pressing member pair, and a driver to drive the pressing mechanism. Controlled by the control circuitry, the moving device moves the fold-enforcing device in accordance with a size of the sheet bundle in the direction of the fold; pressing mechanism pressurizes the pressing member pair to press a first end portion of the sheet bundle in the direction of the fold; the moving device moves the fold-enforcing device to a second end portion of the sheet bundle; and pressing mechanism depressurizes the pressing member pair in the second end portion.

One piece container

A container comprising a first side-panel section separated from a second side-panel section. Each of the first and second side-panel sections includes a side portion fold line extending laterally across the side-panel sections, such that each side-panel section presents two side portions. Furthermore, the container includes a pair of end flaps extending along lateral edges of the first and second side-panel sections and separated from the side-panel sections via primary fold lines, with the end flaps operable to connect the first and second side-panel sections together. The container is configured to be erected from a knockdown configuration by folding together the first side-panel section and the second side-panel section, and extending the first side-panel section and the second side-panel section away from each other such that the container forms a rectangular perimeter.
