Process for making a multi-ply dispersible wipe
A process for making a multi-ply dispersible wipe includes providing a first web and a second web, each web comprising cellulose fibers; superposing the first web over the second web; applying an aqueous solution to at least the first web; after the aqueous solution is applied to the first web, crimping the second web to the first web to create a composite web; cutting or perforating the composite web to define a plurality of multi-ply wet wipes; and packaging the composite web/wet wipes into a package.
Creasing devices
A creasing device is provided that includes a counter-rotating male drum and female drum. The male drum carries a conventional creasing ring with a central rib flanked by shoulders. The female drum comprises a central channel aligned with the creasing rib on the male drum; and a pair of projecting lateral ribs on each side of the central channel that are aligned with the shoulders on the male drum. The lateral ribs press a sheet of the card or paper stock against the shoulders of the creasing ring to better define the edges of the crease and to reduce the tendency of a printed coating on the stock to crack during subsequent folding. The pair of lateral ribs may be provided by a pair of inserts. Alternatively, both ribs and the central channel may be provided by a single insert.
Recording material processing apparatus and image forming system
A recording material processing apparatus includes first teeth that are used for binding processing of a recording material bundle; second teeth that move along a linear route toward the first teeth and presses the recording material bundle located between the first teeth and the second teeth; and a guide portion that is disposed along the linear route and guides the second teeth moving toward the first teeth.
Crimped cushioned envelopes and method of forming the same
A cushioned envelope is formed from a laminated material that includes a cushioning web and a shell web. The outer side of the cushioning web is laminated to the inner side of the shell web. A crimping adhesive is applied to first and second transverse seams of the inner side of the cushioning web. The laminated web material is crimped so that each of the first and second transverse seams on the inner side of the cushioning web is folded in on itself. The folded laminated web material is crimped at the first transverse seam and at the second transverse seam. The crimped laminated web material is cut at a location in the first transverse seam and at a location in the second transverse seam.

Creasing device for forming creases in paper and bookbinding articles, and machine comprising such device
A creasing device includes a frame with a substantially horizontal support surface for supporting an article to be creased; a movable tool; and a stationary tool, the latter comprising a stationary member and at least one displaceable member whose height relative to the stationary member can be adjusted. A first actuator moves the movable tool toward the stationary tool and interacts with opposite faces of the article, and a second actuator translates the displaceable member between a first end position in which interacts with the movable tool and a second end position in which it cannot interact with the movable tool. Guide means associated with the stationary tool guides the displaceable member between the first end position and the second end position. The guide means are have a curvilinear path contained in a plane substantially perpendicular to the support surface.

Binding member and binding device
A binding member includes: an upper tooth that has an upper tooth form for forming unevenness in a bundle of recording materials; and a lower tooth that has a lower tooth form for forming unevenness in the bundle of recording materials and that forms a pair with the upper tooth. At least one of the upper tooth form and the lower tooth form is formed such that, in a sectional shape, a groove is formed in a trough portion of a concave portion of a tooth form and a length of an inclined portion which comes into contact with the bundle of recording materials is made small compared to a case where the inclined portion of the tooth form has reached a bottom of the trough portion.
Projection arrangement for binding device
A binding apparatus includes a first pressing member including a base part and multiple projections projecting from the base part, the first pressing member presses a recording media stack from one side; and a second pressing member including a base part and multiple projections projecting from the base part, the second pressing member facing the first pressing member and pressing the recording media stack from the other side. At least one of the first and second pressing members has at least one lower projection whose apex in a projecting direction closer to the base part than the apexes of the other projections are, and the lower projection is provided in the first or second pressing member that has more projections than the other, or more lower projections are provided in the first or second pressing member that has more projections than the other.
