Fire-rated structural OSB panels with overlaid water-resistant barrier
11578487 · 2023-02-14 ·

A wood or engineered wood structural panel, such as, but not limited to, OSB (“oriented strand board”) or plywood, that is both fire-resistant and water resistant. The panel is factory-coated with a product that provides fire resistance. The treatment gives it a Fire-Resistant (FR) performance (for use in a one- or two-hour rated assembly). The panel also is overlaid or coated in a factory setting with a weather/water resistive barrier (WRB). The structural panel thus combines a fire-resistant structural sheathing and WRB product in one integrated panel produced at a factory prior for installation at a job site.

A THERMAL INSULATION BOARD COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE AEROGEL COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR THE THERMAL INSULATION OF BUILDINGS

The present invention relates to a thermal insulation board (IB) comprising at least two insulating layers (A) bonded together. At least one of the at least two insulating layers (A) comprises at least one aerogel composite material, wherein the aerogel composite material comprises at least one silica aerogel (a1), at least one polymer foam (a2) and at least one flame retardant (a3). The present invention also relates to a thermal insulation system (IS) comprising the thermal insulation board (IB). Further, it relates to a process for the production of the thermal insulation board (IB) and to the use of the thermal insulation board (IB) and of the thermal insulation system (IS) for the thermal insulation of buildings, parts and/or elements of buildings.

Missile impact resistant exterior sheathing building panel

In general, the present invention is directed to the use of particular phosphorus containing compounds for making a glass mat faced gypsum board. The phosphorus containing compound may be a phosphite or a phosphate having a certain formula. In this regard, the present invention is directed to a glass mat faced gypsum board including a gypsum core that is formed from a gypsum slurry comprising such phosphorus containing compound. The present invention is also directed to a method of making a glass mat faced gypsum board.

Impregnated cloth

A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.
