Composite and methods of making same
Described is a composite made from a woven fabric, a non-woven fabric, or a knitted face fabric and a non-woven fabric. The woven fabric, the non-woven fabric, or the knitted face fabric is needle punched such that fibers protrude into the non-woven fabric. The woven fabric, the non-woven fabric, or the knitted face fabric has a first polymer having a first melting point and a second polymer having a second melting point being higher than the first melting point. The nonwoven backing material comprises a third polymer having a third melting point and a fourth polymer having a fourth melting point being higher than the third melting point. The woven fabric, the non-woven fabric, or the knitted face fabric is further bonded to the nonwoven backing material applying heat to at least partially melt or soften the first polymer and the third polymer such that they bond together.
AUXETIC FABRIC REINFORCED ELASTOMERS
A composite structure is provided that includes a polymer layer and an auxetic material layer disposed within or partially within the polymer layer. The auxetic material layer provides increased conductivity and elastomeric reinforcement to the polymer layer.
THERMAL AND ACOUSTIC INSULATION
An improved acoustic and thermal insulation batting for use, for example, between airframe ribs in aircrafts, and that is stable, lightweight, air permeable to mitigate corrosion issues as well as inherently fire resistant and sized and shaped such that there is no need for positive retention mechanisms owing to the nature of the batting which allows for a compression or friction fit in place. The batting comprises a foam insulation core over which is provided one or more barrier, facing and/or edge layers.
Fabric with Moisture Management Function
It is described a knitted/woven fabric with moisture management function comprising a first fabric layer having a first yarn and a second yarn knitted together to form a first layer being semi-hydrophilic or hydrophobic (comprising of lower moisture regain fibers), a second fabric layer comprising a third yarn and a fourth yarn knitted together to form the second fabric layer, the second fabric layer being fully hydrophilic (comprising of higher moisture regain fibers), wherein the first fabric layer has a moisture regain lower than the moisture regain of the second fabric layer providing a hydrophilic gradient between the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer of the knitted fabric pushing moisture through the first fabric layer in contact with the wearer's skin and out through the second fabric layer.
MULTI-LAYER APPAREL AND ACCESSORY CONSTRUCTION FOR COOLING AND VENTILATION
A cooling garment, and a method of construction thereof, includes: a first layer configured to be adjacent to a wearer's skin and comprising exemplary cooling fabrics capable of providing a conductive cooling effect when preferably when wet-activated; a second layer adjacent to the first layer and comprising a spacer material that allows for convective air flow; and a third layer adjacent to the second layer and comprising perforated holes in order to enhance the airflow to the first and second layers.
SYNTHETIC LEATHER AND COATED ARTICLE
A synthetic leather has excellent flame retardance and an article covered with the synthetic. The synthetic leather includes a fiber base material layer formed of a non-woven fabric sheet, wherein the non-woven fabric sheet includes at least one flameproof layer formed of a web including a non-melting fiber A having a high-temperature shrinkage rate of 3% or less and a thermal conductivity, conforming to ISO22007-3 (2008), of 0.060 W/m.Math.K or less and is formed by bonding the flameproof layer to a scrim layer including a carbonized heat-resistant fiber B having an LOI value, conforming to JIS K 7201-2 (2007), of 25 or more, and a resin layer is laminated on a surface of the scrim layer, and a covered article covered with the synthetic leather.
FRICTION TRANSMISSION BELT
A friction transmission belt includes a compression layer forming a pulley contact portion, the compression layer includes an inner layer formed from a rubber composition and an outer layer provided on a pulley contact side of the inner layer and formed from a fiber member, and a ratio (M10 modulus/M50 modulus) of an modulus at 10% elongation in a belt longitudinal direction (M10 modulus) to an modulus at 50% elongation in the belt longitudinal direction (M50 modulus), of the rubber composition, is not less than 1.5.
RAW CUT EDGE SWIMSUIT, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A swimsuit is disclosed herein comprising a bust portion, and a bottom portion including a waist portion configured to surround a torso, with an inner fabric layer including an interior surface and an exterior surface, and an outer fabric layer including an interior surface and an exterior surface, a left leg opening defined by a lower left edge portion, and a right leg opening defined by a lower right edge portion. The lower left edge portion and lower right edge portion are raw cut and are bonded with a bonding layer between the interior surface of the inner layer and the interior surface of the exterior layer. A first positioning strip is formed on the exterior surface of the inner fabric layer along an edge portion of at least one of the bust portion and the bottom portion. Corresponding methods also are disclosed.
WASHABLE AND REUSABLE FACE MASK WITH REPLACEABLE FILTER
A face mask include a bulbous area that reduces contact between the wearer and the mask, with the inner surface texture and material adapted to be comfortable to the wearer. The bulbous area may be equipped with a filter retained by slots at the edge of the bulbous area, with the inner surface texture and material of the filter also adapted to be comfortable to the wearer. The mask may be knit with seamless transitions between wearer-contacting surfaces and the bulbous area, which enhance the comfort of the mask. The mask may include silvered yarns for antimicrobial properties. Furthermore, the bulbous area increases the effective surface area of the mask on both inhalation and exhalation, unlike pleats that collapse on inhalation.
INTERIOR MATERIAL OF VEHICLE
An interior material of a vehicle includes: a fabric layer made of a tricoat fabric, a foam layer disposed on a lower surface of the fabric layer, and an antifouling layer disposed at least between an upper surface of the fabric layer or the fabric layer and the foam layer. The tricoat fabric includes a combination of at least one of a polyurethane yarn, a high-elongation polyester yarn, or a polyester yarn.
