Bonding dissimilar polymer networks in various manufacturing processes
A polymer composite of dissimilar polymers covalently bonded at the interface is disclosed. A method for bonding dissimilar polymers includes providing a first precursor to a hydrogel polymer network comprising a first coupling agent; providing a second precursor to a second polymer network comprising a second coupling agent, wherein the hydrogel polymer network and the second polymer network are different; initiating polymerization of the first precursor to form a hydrogel polymer network, wherein the first coupling agent is incorporated into the polymer network with a negligible amount of condensation; initiating polymerization of the second precursor to form a second polymer network, wherein the second coupling agent is incorporated into the second polymer network with a negligible amount of condensation; contacting one of the first hydrogel precursor or the hydrogel polymer network with one of the second polymer precursor or second polymer networks and initiating condensation between the first and second coupling agents to form a covalent bond.
Surgical repair graft
The apparatuses and methods described herein relates generally to the field of active agent (drug) release from surgical grafts useful for soft tissue reconstruction, regeneration, or repair. More particularly, described herein are surgical grafts for soft tissue repair that include active agent that is released over time while advantageously matching the biomechanical properties of tissue during healing and recovery.
CIRCUMFERENTIALLY WRAPPABLE ELECTRODE FOR USE WITH METAL SURGICAL IMPLANTS
A wrappable electrode includes a flexible covering and a lead wire connecting the electrode to a stimulating device. The wrappable electrode further includes an adhesive layer to enable attachment to the skin of a patient and an inert conductive layer to which the lead wire is electrically coupled. The electrode is sized to be wrapped about at least a majority of a circumference of a limb of a patient in proximity to a metal surgically implanted device. The adhesive layer includes a buffered hydrogel. The electrode includes a separate conductive layer to evenly distribute electrical current relative to the metal implanted device, with the electrode serving as an anode and the implanted device serving as a cathode in a CVCES treatment system. The electrode can further include at least one feature to ensure proper placement on the skin of the patient.
PASSIVE THERMAL MANAGEMENT USING THERMORESPONSIVE HYDROGEL
A passive thermal management system and methods of using a thermoresponsive hydrogel coating configured to autonomously switch between a heating state and a cooling state based on ambient temperature. At temperature greater than a lower critical solution temperature of the thermoresponsive hydrogel, the thermoresponsive hydrogel coating becomes solar reflective and has enhanced radiative cooling ability to achieve daytime radiative cooling. At temperatures less than the lower critical solution temperature, the thermoresponsive hydrogel coating becomes transparent to facilitate absorption of solar radiation by sun absorber.
Concrete Curing Blanket
Disclosed is a concrete curing blanket including a film layer, a differential hydrophobic/hydrophillic layer and a gel layer interposed therebetween.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CURING FRESH CONCRETE
A concrete curing system and method for maintaining an appropriate amount of moisture along and within fresh concrete for a desired amount of time necessary to ensure the cured concrete obtains its desired properties, that can be used for various environmental conditions and for a variety of structures, that is relatively inexpensive, and provides product and performance consistency and is non-staining.
FIRE PROTECTION GLAZING INCLUDING A SECONDARY SEAL HAVING COOLING FIRE PROTECTION PROPERTY
Fire protection glazing made of two or more glass panes spaced apart from each other by a spacer. A fire protection material and the spacer are arranged in an intermediate space between the two glass panes. A secondary seal encloses the fire protection material and the spacer in the intermediate space. The secondary seal has a cooling fire protection property and is free of any intumescent fire protection property. Exclusively the fire protection material, the spacer, optionally having an optional spacer attachment for attaching the spacer to the glass pane, and the secondary seal can be arranged in the intermediate space between the two glass panes.
Periocular dressing system and composition
A periocular dressing includes a base layer composed of a nonwoven material; a top layer having a composition bound to a polyurethane film, the composition including a hydrogel with a percentage by weight of bacitracin, the top layer to come into contact with a user's skin; and a removable membrane secured over the top layer and to be removed; the polyurethane film of the top layer is adhesively secured to the base layer; and the top layer promotes vasoconstriction and antibacterial properties.
DISPLAY MODULE, METHOD FOR FABRICATING SAME, AND DISPLAY PANEL
The present disclosure provides a display module, a method for fabricating the same, and a display panel comprising the same. The display module comprises a flexible display panel and a support film. The flexible display panel comprises a display area and a non-display area. The support film comprises a first support film disposed below the display area, and a second support film disposed below the non-display area and composed of a cured organic material. Because the organic material has good fluidity and adhesiveness, gas between the flexible display panel and the second support film can be effectively discharged. This prevents air bubbles from being generated between the flexible display panel and the second support film.
