POLYVINYL ACETAL RESIN FILM

A polyvinyl acetal resin film, having an average surface roughness Rz of at least one surface of 3.0 μm or less; a birefringence Δn of 3.0×10.sup.−4 or less; and an average thickness of 200 μm or less.

VALVE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
20170341356 · 2017-11-30 ·

A method of making a one-way gas release valve for releasing gas pressure from within a coffee container comprises pre-oiling a relatively narrow dry strap of flexible material and laminating the pre-oiled dry strap between relatively wide ribbons of base and cover material with the dry strap overlying spaced vent patterns in the base material. Alternatively, the base material may be pre-oiled or both the base material and the dry strap may be pre-oiled. The dry strap and base may be made of PET and the cover may be made of mPET. Gas release valves are then die cut from the resulting web with each valve containing a vent pattern. Pre-oiling of the dry strap and/or the base can be accomplished through a roll metered process to insure that the oil is applied in precise amounts and with consistent thickness and coverage. Since the oil is applied during fabrication of the gas release valves, the vent patterns in the base can be configured to function also as a filter to prevent coffee grinds from migrating into the valve.

COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH INSERT-MOLDED ATTACHMENT STEEL
20170313030 · 2017-11-02 ·

A composite material with an insert-molded attachment steel is provided. The composite material includes a plurality of burring apertures, each of which has a flange in one direction on the attachment steel and is inserted between fibers. A resin is then introduced between the fibers in each burring aperture and external to the flange.

APPLICATION AND FASTENING OF A DEFINED NUMBER OF INDIVIDUAL ELEMENTS TO A SUBSTRATE WEB
20220055853 · 2022-02-24 ·

The invention relates to a method for applying and attaching a defined number n of individual elements to a defined number m of predefined positions on a surface of a moving substrate web. The invention further relates to a moving substrate web onto which a defined number n of individual elements are to be applied and attached to a defined number m of predefined positions on a surface of a moving substrate web. According to the invention, an adhesive is applied to the surface of the substrate web at each of the predefined positions so that respectively at least one individual element can be attached at respectively one predefined position, and no adhesive is applied outside the predefined positions.

System for manufacturing a composite building element

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a composite building element that includes a casing material, a bulk material, and a locking element, the method including the steps of: (a) continuously feeding a first sheet of casing material into a filling station; (b) securing the bulk material to the first sheet of casing material; (c) continuously feeding the bulk material and the first sheet of casing material out of the filling station; the method characterized by the step of: (d) securing the locking element to the first sheet of casing material prior to securing the bulk material to the first sheet of casing material.

THERMALLY LAMINATED TAB LINER
20170291399 · 2017-10-12 ·

Liner having an induction heat sealable layer for sealing to a rim of a container, and a pull tab for ease of removal of the liner from the container rim. A folded insert disposed between multilayer upper and lower components, has a heat bondable polyolefin layer that is thermally laminated to polyolefin layers of the upper and lower components, forming a pull tab between the integrated polyolefin layers. The resulting composite resists delamination and can be formed in a single thermal lamination step, avoiding the multiple lamination steps, associated high equipment costs, and complex layer constructions of the prior art.

Apparatus for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material

An apparatus for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material generally includes a first bonding module and a second bonding module. The second bonding module is positionable in close proximity to the first bonding module for receiving a first nonwoven fabric, a second nonwoven fabric, and at least one elastic strand therebetween. The second bonding module has a face with a width dimension and a circumferential axis and is rotatable about a rotation axis. The face has a plurality of ridges includes a first ridge and a pair of second ridges positioned on opposing sides of the first ridge along the circumferential axis. The first ridge defines a plurality of interspaced lands and notches, and the second ridges are configured to sever the at least one elastic strand when in close proximity to the first bonding module.
